Did more work to my car...can anyone figure out what the hell is going on??
1st..what are the symptoms of a failing fuel pump?
2nd..i pulled the MSD 6a out... i started it and DROVE IT.. its actually faster? It doesnt snap when u shift now but moves forward faster...?
3rd.. the stalling hesitation is still there... you push the gas let out the clutch engine bogs and dies unless u rev... I have the Fuel Pressure gauge on the hood and the reason im asking about the fuel pump is because with the car parked and idling, you can rev the car at a constant RPM and the fuel pressure starts to go down...?

One more thing..if everyone suspects its the fuel pump.. is there an aftermarket or inline pump available?? This is the 3rd fuel pump...! I dont want to pull the tank out.. and if i can do that, how would i disconnect the stock one with no codes? FYI the fuel filter was done about 8,000 miles ago

I do not believe it's the pump.
You do not have a load on the engine, so the fuel pressure compensates.
BUT why 3 pumps?
That is extreme.

I work at AZ, DO NOT buy the master pumps, they get returned so often it aint funny. get the delco pumps, they last, I've yet to do a return on any of them.

Get ahold of Saul.
Call ahead. THEN REMOVE THE OLD BUMMER ONE AND DEMAND YOUR MONEY BACK!
If ya work at Autozone, can you get me a windshield washer pump? I'll mail it!
I misplaced my receipt and it's not good anymore. Within like 8 months. I believe it was Cardone brand.

There are in-line pumps out there... supposedly, an in-line pump can still pull fuel through a dead in-tank pump. As to mounting the thing, I have no idea... and I don't know who makes 'em, either. I think Paxton does, but it's probably a high dollar pump. Ask on the TPI board... or, maybe the tech board, you might get a better response there. Let us know!

I have one from my old 1975 Fuel Injected Opel Sport Wagon.
It was made by Bosch and it is expensive replacement part.
That is not the correct solution.
For our car design, you need the correct solution.
Give Saul a call and demand your money back from AUTOZONE.
RAISE YOUR VOICE with customers there.
DEMAND to speak to regional manager, RIGHT NOW on your cellphone.
That always works.
That's how I got another MAS unit!

Graeme, AZ sells generic inline pumps for about $20-30, but i think they push 5-7 psi., they are also master pumps so......
Ked, pump is is $14.99, with that wonderful 20% employee discount + tax $12.77

Yeah, but what if he gets another bum pump? It might've been the brand, sure, but after dropping my own tank two times, I start shaking violently if I think about doing it a 3rd time!
I can't even imagine a 4th time...

yea.. i really dont want to drop that tank again.. the only reason im thinking inline is because of the mods... however.. i think im going to get a 3.4 block and mod it some.. i went to the car today flipped it around so the exhaust was facing the wall.. started.. white smoke... revved white smoke... turned it off...last of the white smoke... sooo my engine is dead...

Graeme, I just got ya a 3.4.
Same price as mine, $800, same deal about 40K miles.
AND LESS MILES IF YA WANT IT!
Incidentially, he ONLY sells GOOD engines!
NONE that need rebuilding.
You want it?
Call 323-587-3144 (So Cal Auto Wrecking), ask for Marty, it will take about 3 days for it to arrive.
Does that help ya?
I paid cash.
Email me if ya like any more details.
I just called at 1 PM now PST. He is there until 4 PM
