Place to out the air box sensor.

if your air box is that single filter,(air can thing is to the right side) and if you took off that botom air filter bucket,

you may have had the problem of where to put that air sensor. so you try and let it sit in the coolest spot, (to trick the computer into giving that v6 more fuel) well i found a nice place to put it! if you look close under the air can and you should see 2 circle cut holes that lead to the tire well...(mine does) so i just put the o2 sensor kind of in the hole and the air is much cooler inside the tire well...

is this a good idea?
only thing i worry about is dirt and rock and water ohh my!

Well if you removed the bottom wouldn't you still suck dirt in from the bottom of the air filter?

As for were to puth the sensor. why not tap a hole in the top of the air tubiing and put it there. that way the computer isn't trick into thinking the air is cold then what it is and adjust for conditions that are not happening. You want the computer to adjust for the conditions that are there and not false conditions.

I just removed the "Case" and have my K&N sitting in open area. I put the sensor under the bottom sticking inside the K&N opening. So it still gets accurate readings.

I went to a Cruise Night to meet up w/Graeme.
We missed each other.
I but I saw a bitchin' trick set up.
On an Impala (Last ones the SS), the guy built an air box outta clear plexiglass.
Try building that air box to block yours off and adjust the the hood rubber bump stop, so the hood stays open a bit more at that corner.
May prove to be quite effective.
Thanks for showing the pic!

thats sounds like a real good idea, and must look great!!

TomP and I were talking about mine once and he was suggesting to cover it up like you said, and I have been thinking about it since. finally saved up some pizza boxes to use as templates.....mmmmm, pizza. anyway, i like the plexiglass idea, that way you can still see inside. it'll be more expensive, but definately like it. thanks for the input, if i get a chance to do it over winter i will post some pics after too. thanks for the input...
