DUAL OIL FILTER RELOCATION KITS

DUAL OIL FILTER RELOCATION KITS

anyone done this yet???

anyone used the 50 dollar kit at jcwhitney???

will the stock oil pump have no problems with one???

will my car have just as much oil psi, having dual filters and a few feet of hose???

how much hose is too much, like what about relocating them to in front of the raditor in the air flow????

i bet the extra cooling would be nice.

And you buy more places for your oil to leak from!
Spend your money elsewhere, honest.
This item is not necessary for our 3rd Gen cars.
"ALL OUT RACE CARS" with headers exiting from that area under the engine/chassis, sure. Proper solution.

NOR AM I TRYING TO BE A KNOW IT ALL.
My Brothers 2nd 1961 Corvette had that set up. All it did was leak.
It's just not the best nor wisest project to put your street car effort into.
What is the reason for using a remote oil set up on your car?
Do you know how much fun it is to wipe down the fenders after you remove the oil filter and all that oil spills over the innner fenders, ground, sprays onto the eingine, etc?

i dont think i would even worry about leaks myself, but if that is so then a stock pump must have plenty of pressure.

if it can make oil leak past a good hose clamp. water system run more pressure than oil right???

i just want to make sure im not gonna screw up my oil pump.

if pressure is no problem, i would run them up front like an oil cooler.

Why not just run an oil cooler then??? Seriously dude, two oil filters is money better spent elsewhere.

Hey,

Sounds like a good idea to me, Im gonna get one soon. My freind has that setup on his truck. I think you have problems elswhere if you get a leak from two hoses. Who would be against better oil filtration?

You won't get better oil filtration--just increase capacity to hold the stuff found in the oil. If you change the oil as often as you should and use a good filter, you won't get any gain from having 2 filters. Putting the filters out in the air stream, you will risk busting a filter open from a rock or other object. The cooling effect will be minimal at best(use an oil cooler for that). Convenience, sure it's easy to change the filter, but you still have to get under the car and pull the oil plug--so why not yank the filter while you are down there. If you want this mod, go for it. But I'm sure some of us would like to know why.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

I also agree with Karl (& everyone else), the dual oil filter isn't worth the cost. Make sure you're using a PF52-equivilant (long) filter, and not the '86-spec'd-by-auto-parts-stores PF47-equivilant filter, change your oil frequently, and you're good to go.

It's usually an off-road mod for trucks, since trucks are usually in dusty situations (off-roading). But for the street, I wouldn't bother. There's got to be something else worth $50- If you want to add some splash to the engine compartment, get the Russell braided dress-up hose sleeves from Summit. (I have 'em, they're fun!)
