Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
Mine is a 3.1 and has a different EGR valve, but the location is the same. Pictured below, there is a gold colored accordion tube behind the alternator, follow that from the throttle body to the other end, your EGR is there at the end.

Its mounted on top of the passenger side exhaust manifold. Its got a wide round shape to it, think of a UFO, lol. It will have a vacuum line coming off it and the accordian tube like described above going to the intake manifold.

Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
here you go, it's the black thing just behind alternator. I know the other guys did a good job of describing it, but here's a pic anyway

Why are you changing it? If it's for a code 32 from your ECM, most of the time those are caused by vacuum leaks, not a faulty valve itself. I was throwing a code 32, and it turned out my EGR solenoid had a crack in it

Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
thanks!
by leak I meant a break in one of the small vacuum hoese under the hood. easy to patch with a small rubber line
finding it is difficult

Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
no, I haven't. Wiper transmission might be out, or the wipers could be mounted loosely, causing them the spin on the base instead of move

Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
thats what im planning on doing in a few minutes is go out to my car with my iPod and record the noise when i start the car i dont think ill be able to move the car considering the position its in the driveway and the truck is to close to it and i dont feel like asking my dad to move it but ill see what i can do in terms of that.its just the strangest noise it never used to be there it sounds like maybe a whining fan of some type but that doesnt make sense because i never have a fan running during startup

Hi.
New to this. I have a 2.8 with a vacuum line I cant find where it plugs into . It comes from the Vac reg vale and is showed in your photo running in back of the plenum.
If you have a photo would be great.

Re: EGR Valve location on 2.8l
Thanks,
I got the vacuum diagram. It shows the line coming off the Vac reg vale goes into a vac switch. I researched the switch with different parts and cant located on my car. Hoping maybe someone could show me a photo
of it to help me out .
