Re: 2.8 vs 3.4 headers.

You'll want the headers for the 2.8L V6. Even if you swap to the 3.4L V6, you'd still want the headers for the 2.8L V6. I'm not sure the headers for the 3.4L would fit in your 3rd-Gen. The 4th-Gen is a lot different in engine bay dimensions...

Do the 2.8 headers flow well enough for the 3.4? Up to what sort of power can they handle?

Okay, Jayhawk, just a hint: NO ONE WILL LISTEN TO A V8 GUY BASH PEOPLE ON THE V6 BOARD, ESPECIALLY, WHEN HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT.

The cylinder-heads on the 2.8L, 3.1L, and 3.4L are the same, except for the carb'ed 2.8L V6. The heads all flow the same amount, and that isn't much. You won't flow more than those headers can handle, whether it's a 2.8L or a 3.4L V6.

I actually like this v6 motor. Its 26 years old and runs strong as hell. Thanks for the input. I didnt think about the 3.4 being for a different engine bay. THat makes total sense. Thanks guys!

Hey guys I was a douche. I wanted to show my friend the reactions of some of the v6 guys on this forum when you insult their engine. I wasn't thinking about coming off as an ignorant *******. I know the capabilities of the v6's on here and I know there are far more built v6's on here than v8's. That run 12's and 11's. My bad.

There are ways to convey a sarcastic nature, man.

Like that.

Sorry for coming down a little hard. I'm used to taking lots of flak as are most of the V6 guys.

Ha ha nah that's understandable. I have seen guys seriously rag on the sixers and I know if I was a six gunner how old that would get. I will practice my use of the smilies . We are brothers in cars and should show the mutual respect. Now, back to the original poster's question!

Again, you'll probably think twice now about doing something like that in the future, due to getting infractions.

There is no reason whatsoever to make posts like that.
