I don't know alot about this, but I do know you would like to have forged pistons, and rods. Ported heads. a better breathing exhaust, cam, roller rockers.

But you don't need this from what I have read on the power adder board. I guess you can run it on a stock engine, sometimes they blow, sometimes they handle it. I guess it depends on how abusive you are on it.

Chip, yup your going to need one, and I would say probably even some bigger injectors.

But will the 3.8 SC really work on a 3.4, 90* vs 60* doesn't that afect something...

If you're talking about the 3800 series III supercharger used in GTP's and SSEI's, fat chance. It won't even come close to bolting up. The engines are entirely different.

no, Drew, buddy, i'm not that stupid

i'm talking about the RKsport one for the 3.8 f-body
i think it said it was made by Powerdyne, although when i went to powerdyne's website they only had LT-1 superchargers

i read on another website that this one will bolt up

i heard forged internals were for the better also......but if thats the case.....i would need an entire rebuild, and the supercharger itself costs over $3000 so its not worth it at all.........rather just dump a small block in there i guess

i know like 1-2 years ago i read somewhere on a f-body msg board that there was a turbo that was made for the 3.8 f-body and there was an adapter to use it on a 3.4 f-body. i am goin to do some homework on this as i am doin a 3.4 swap and want the 300+ hp from a v6!!

of the 10 fastest (top speed) production cars made, 1 of them was a turbo buick v6.

Dude, just yesterday I was out with my buddy testing his '97 3.4 Montecarlo, which he just supercharged. He's not running alot of boost, but it still kicks @ss. He hasn't done anything to the internals and doesn't have headers.....yet. Ill find out how the hell he did it, take pics and post it for ya soon.

YES!!!!!!!! now we're really getting somewhere

my only problem with this is that the supercharger costs close to $4000 (i think) and my current engine has 176,000 miles.........so i would definetly NEED a new engine

now i have a decision........

i can save, buy an IROC and do this this project as soon as i can afford to.......or i can try to get my mom to drive me around for a few weeks while i swap the engine to a 3.4.........then save for the supercharger.........then hopefully throw a 6 speed in..........now we're talking about the ultimate V6 f body

sounds cool........they say there is one in the works for the 3.4 so i see no reason that it won't fit the 3.1.........

Check out www.Procharger.com - they have several diff. models. They have a couple smaller centrifugal superchargers. They also are big on intercoolers - I wouldn't run a supercharger without one!! This way, you can build decent boost and still run pump gas(91 octane). They may not have one directly for a 2.8/3.1, but it shouldn't be too bad to fabricate a mount or bracket to run it on the V-6.
