THere was a 3.1L Turbo in 89 LOOK

I was looking at a fiero sit and saw that in 89 there was a turbo offered for the Fieros,
"Variants
1989 - 3.1L Turbo
During the 1989 model year, Pontiac sold a limited-edition version of the Grand Prix with a McLaren turbocharged 3.1L engine. Only 2000 were made, but in 1990 it became a regular production model. Power output was rated at 205hp. "

You guys think maybe we could infact get a Turbo for our cars.

Also at this other site apprently a guy used a Turbo from a T-bird.

it's not for a fiero. it's for a grand prix. where have you been? there's a flame red '90 TGP sitting in my local junkyard right now.

then again I might know the happenings of the 1st gen W-body, seeing that I own one.

And as I recall they (GM) did a $hitty(To put it nicely) job of setting the car up for it. They gained what 35 HP? Was a waste in my opinion. I have riden in 1 a while back and you had to be above 50 to feel anything.

not really. could hang just fine w/ a 3.4 dohc. low 15's stock. it doesn't take much @ all go get one in the mid to low 13's. I'd love to have one. @ the time, the best performing GP was the 3.1 NA in '89. 140 hp and 180 tq. so it's a 65 hp boost and a good amount of tq, considering the boost wasn't THAT high. a near 50% increase in power. prolly the only FWD car that I really DESIRE would be a TGP or a new GTP.

Desirable FWD cars.
1966 Toronado with close to zero miles.
1976 Eldorado Convertible with close to zero miles.
1930's Cord, Supercharged.
1960's MiniCooper S, painted Union Jack colors, with Minilites & Dunlops!
And I'd only drive the Mini!

The fiero was made to be a smaller version of the firebird. Basicly it was to contend with other 2 seater sportscar like the corvette. Origionaly it was going to be fitted with a rear mounted V8, like a 305

Close.
From MY UNDERSTANDING, the Fiero was made as a Commuter car.
Design was a second issue.
Useful scrounging of "various parts" made the car, fun.
Engine - Citation
Suspension - Chevette, until the last year (1988). 1988 was a stand alone front/rear suspension upgrade.
I really enjoyed my 3,000 mile ride in 10 days in the rental Fiero I had.

i always liked fieros, and would like one, but I hate small cars. I like a larger more comfy kinda car.
