Alternator swap. V6 to V8?

Does anyone know if the alternator off a 1988 V6 firebird will fit the casting on a 1991 LO3 V8 Camaro engine. Are the connections the same?

Thanks.
Andy.

I would suggest looking the alternator part #s up on a place like http://www.expressautoparts.com - that way, if it's the same part #, it'll work.

'87-up 2.8/3.1 has the newer style "small" alternator, if that helps.

No NOS yet.
I recently installed
Trailer hitch to haul cherry picker to lift out engines for my swap missions (3.4 into my S-10 Blazer, 1970 LT-1 V-8 into my 1967 Camaro) and to lift into my Firebird, two trannys for rebuilding/making best "one".
Installed a modified air inlet yet.
It helped but not as dramatically as installing a 3.4 into my Firebird.

NOS is far down the list of things for that Firebird.

My Wife takes my Son around in that car (I have to remove her 1968 Camaro front end, regasket engine, new body mounts, disc brakes/shocks springs).
COLD Air Conditioning is a major "next" on that Firebird car wish list!

Trailer hitch on the F-body. Smart move. Cheapest handling mod for the $$$...and you can get some use out of it.

it's an old autocrosser's trick. Ever wonder why you see so many trailer hitches at autocross events?

Extra weight overhang holds rear in place.
Car in "more control"/traction for exiting turns
My 3.4 swap up for all to read, yet?
