You need spacers/Wheel adapters. Get them from www.skulte.com or www.vettebrakes.com

Need 2.25" in front 1.25" in rear

Even with spacers, they're gonna rub in fron when you turn to lock, and the parking brake cable will rub in the back. Also, you will need to use flat weights on the inside for balance, especially in the front, cause the regular weights will beat the **** out of the tie rods.

This message is from Andris at SPD Skulte Performance Designs. This is in response to the last post. I hope this helps.

The answer is "it depends". First on which rims you are adapting.
17x9.5
is the largest you'll get in the front. At full lock, I had to heat the
inside fenderwell plastic with a hot air gun, and remold it (just
propped
it between the tire and plastic with a 2x4 while it cooled). I haven't
had
any problems of parking brake cables rubbing. That's a matter of
ziptie'ing them in place to clear. No one has mentioned this to me
before. The inside wheel weights were a non-issue, since I always use
the
flat stick-on weights, with some clear tape over them to prevent losing
them. Some wide wheels (17x9.5 ROH ZS's w/ 0mm offset) have tight
clearances between the tie-rod balljoints. Most will clear, but Dan
Burk
did have to file a little from his aftermarket (non-GM) piece to get
proper clearance. The last issue is with 17x9.5's and lowered
suspension. I had to roll the inside fender lip for clearance, but now
it
doesn't rub at all. We've probably helped 150 people put 17x9's or
17x9.5 4th gen/Corvette rims on their third-gens, and haven't had
anyone
get stumped yet. Feel free to fwd this to the thirdgen.org msg board if
you like. I'm running the 17x11/9.5 ZR1 wheel combo right now, and
previously had the 84-87 C4 16x9.5's on all four corners. I hope this
helps clarify a few things!"

I have 17" WS6 wheels on my TA. 255/40/17 in front, 275/40/17 in back. I have no rubbing issues at all. none. Perhaps that may change when the car is lowered in spring, but at stock height I have none.

Instead of using spacers in the back you could also get a rear out of a newer fbody.
