Rotating Wheels/tires

I have a 91 Z28 Convertible with 16" aluminum wheels of the new style for that year. I want to rotate front tires to rear. I was told that they may have different off sets. Looking at them, the rims all seem to have the same off set. Can anyone confirm whether the 91, 92 new style rims are the same off set on front and back?

Re: Rotating Wheels/tires

im quite sure the 16" wheels do, there should be a spacer on the front, and the wheels are marked front and rear.

There are no spacers. The wheels do have "front" / "rear" stamped on them. Will have to dismount tires to rotate.

Re: Rotating Wheels/tires

On the rears, usually with iron drums (though my 85 IROC had them with disc brakes).

Re: Rotating Wheels/tires

My 91 RS rear drums had little spacers in the rear, like 1/8" or maybe 7/32".

Unfortunately you will have to dismount the tires from the rims to rotate them.

Re: Rotating Wheels/tires

I have a 91 RS with 305 and the 16" rims and drums out back. My rears to have spacers but the fronts do not (I do not believe any third gens had spacers on the fronts if you stayed with the stock 16"ers) my 88 IROC Z Convertible also has the stock 16" rims and the rears also have the spacers and I know in both circumstances you must dismount the tires to rotate them.
