After a lot of searching and pondering about what to get I decided the M6 wheels were the best choice as they look close to the original -87 Iroc wheel. Got 8.5x19 for the front and 9.5x19 for the back. Now all I need is some rubber.

Angles look funny in this mockup but I have a feeling it's going to look awesome, especially after I install the Eibach sportline springs, adjsutable koni yellows. 13" bear track fronts, possibly 12"s w/ PBRs for the back and a bunch of other stuff.

Looks good. I think they would be WAY better if they were 17s though. I really like the design though. Should looks Badass. I just don't like low profile tires on 3rd gens.

 

17s is way too small IMO and if you buy wide 18 rears the sidewall is often lower than on the narrower front tires. Also, 17s are old news nowadays, I've had 17s on other cars when they were all the rage, right now they are almost like 16s....forgotten.

20s look good on the GTA (IMO)so I figured 19s would be fine on the camaro. 18s are too small. I tried the 18" intro pentias from my vette on the camaro, they didn't fill out the wheel wells. The GTa has the same Eibach sport line springs so they should sit about the same.

 

Should be interesting to see! I think there was another member on here that had these same rims on his car.

i love your wheels, were they one of those special order ones from oasis wheels? Would have killed to own a set, I don't like the chromed ones, like the original look...since they are not available I went with the bimmer ones.

 

It's been so damn long since I bought these wheels (5+ years ago), that I forgot the name of the place. I know they went out of business.
It sucks that these stupid manufacturers only now make the replica irocs in chrome. It's probably a business decision since most people like chrome, but they should set aside atleast 10% of their stock for those of us that want polished wheels.
Also, they only offer the wheels in 8 inches wide! I had to send mine out to be widened to 11 inches wide by an aftermarket place.
In any case, your 19's should look awesome!
What size tire are you thinking of running?

 

thing is, most people want bling over... zing... (not much rhymes with bling)
point is, if they can give you a wheel that is bigger and the same width, most people wouldnt know the difference. especially if they arent going on a camaro... lots of s-10 guys use iroc wheels.

285/30/19s in the rear and 245/35/19s in the front.

The 8" wide is what also put me off, no shop here will do alu wheels, they only widen steel wheels. I did some inquiries and found some in the US that would widen them. in total with the shipping and finally blasting the chrome off the wheels, powdercoating them and fly cutting the face for that machined look would have been more expensive than the Intro Pentia billet wheels on my vette.. kind of contra productive if you ask me.

The GTA has 20" wheels w/ 255/35/20s all around.

A buddy of mine stole my thunder and went ahead and got some 18" M6s when he saw my pic, this is what it looks like. He has 245/35/18s all around, I would have put meatier ones in the back.

 

Do you know what the offset is on the 19" M6 wheels?

Neither do I, that's why I have 19s whereas the majority here seems to favor 17s. You are so wrong for implying that I buy stuff because of what other people thing. i couldn't care less about that. What's up with all you feeling so strongly about 17s and taking a **** at my stuff? If you don't like it, why the hell post in my thread?

 

If you buy wheels to be fashionable and trendy, I think you've forgotten that you're driving a thirdgen. I love my thirdgen, but it's hardly "in". You pick tire sizes just to one up the next guy? That's beyond weird to me.

But regardless, you've got a good looking car, and to me it looks good in spite of the massive wheels that are on it, not because of them. But I've never seen anything over 18 look good on a thirdgen aside from yours, so props to you on that. I think going with an old-school style wheel helped out a lot.

I'd never go over 17s on my car. I'm more concerned with getting something that's lightweight, strong, and wide.

As for thirdgens not being in, almost no one knows what it is here anyway and they are amazed when I tell them it's 22 years old. I don't buy stuff because of what other people think, I buy what I like.

Finally someone that gets what I was thinking too. IMO they look a lot like the 1 stripe iroc wheel indeed and what's why I got them.

I got them here in NL and they were less than a 1200$ (converted from euros) but they are italian wheels, you can also get them made in China, should be cheaper even. The 18s on my buddies gray one are all 18x8, a little narrow for the rear (and his rear tire is too low profile too IMO) but he paid less for all 4 wheels and tires than I did for just my wheels. His are Chinese castings and he was done for about 800 or so (mind you, those are some el cheapo tires on there)

ET +20 both, no adapters. Perfect fit w. hubcentric rings, you can get those on ebay

 

I think 19s are the ideal size for a thirdgen. 20s are just a tad big, 18s dont quite fill the wheel well enough. I had 17s and will be going 19s here soon! And if corvettes can run 19s with performance tires then I can too!

 

I think they look sweet and they are kinda "IROC" like. The only problem I have with going with wheels over 17" is that the sidewalls are almost non-existant, and the ride gets pretty harsh - and with the roads around where I live, I get concerened with wheel damage..i.e. it could cause problems. But wheels are all just personal preference IMO, and to each his/her own I say.

I'm really digging the wheels on your friends black GTA though. Do you happen to know who makes them, what size they are - etc??

I've actually been contemplating getting those wheels, and now I know what they look like on a F-body. I didn't recognize them till you said what they were.

They almost match the color of my car exactly...whether that'll make em look good on my car I don't know, but I like them nonetheless.

They also come in 17 and 18" diameters also. Now all I need to do is determine the best offset and size to fit 275's all around, and I'm ordering a set. Thanks again!!

EDIT: Sorry if I hijacked the topic...I'd opt for the bimmer wheels you posted, but 19's are too big for my taste - but they're nice wheels!

 

are hub centric lip in rings really needed with bmw aftermarket wheels or is it only on oem bmw wheels

 

Those wheels look amazing on these cars. I had never thought of putting them on before. These are the wheels I've been considering for my DD 2010 Cadillac CTS. lol
