Re: 92 larger wheel width?

Yours is a very open-ended question.

It depends on what diameter you want....15"/16"/17"/18"? Lowered or stock height? How far in/out you want then to set? Which depends on the backspacing. What kinda tires are your goal? Slicks, short sidewalls for handling/tall sidewalls for cushion/tall sidewalls for drag racing?

With more information on what you are wanting for size, we can tell you more.

Re: 92 larger wheel width?

well the car will be stock height. im not looking to run slicks. i will put a stickyer tire on but i also want it to be wider. i want to stick with 16"s if i can 17"s are fine too. not to worried about handling as much as strip. my fronts are 245/50/16s and i wasnt planning on changing them. i dont want my rear wheels to stick out much farther from the car than the stocks do. to me just looks funny to have wheels sticking out far.

Re: 92 larger wheel width?

the problem you seem to run into is no one really make 16 inch tires much wider than 255. You'd have to go to a taller side profile to get wider tread than 255 probably. I mean you could easily throw some truck tires on it... but I dont think that's the look you're after.

There are actually a few 265s & 275s & ONE 295. But most 265s/275s are of such a low sidewall profile & track-only compound or (lack of) tread pattern, they wouldn't perform their best on our 8" wheel. The BFG 295/50R16 can fit, but of the kinda-tall sidewall, allowing it to fit. 8" is even within (the minimum but....) the recommended width for the tire.
