Iroc Rims: Rear wheel on front spindle?

hello recently i bought 5 rims, 3 rears and 2 fronts, but one of the fronts was damaged. thinking i could just get it repaired i bought them all. but when i took the rim to the shop they told me 200 dollars to fix just the one rim.

so my question is simple could you put the rear wheel on the front spindle by using a wheel spacer.

i measured it roughly and it is just over half an inch difference then i looked it up online and they say its 16mm offset, which is about .649 of an inch. and they do make spacers that are .645 of an inch.

So ya is it just the mounting flange offset that is different on these wheels or is their more cause i dont see a reason why this wouldent work

the wheels have a different offset front and rear. The rears wont bolt onto the front without a spacer, but if you have certain aftermarket front brake setups, or the 1le front brakes, the rears will fit the front of the car.

you only need a small spacer, something like 1/4" to clear the steering arm, not 5/8. And whenever you use a slip on spacer you need to make sure that you still have enough thread engagement for he lug nuts or you will risk possible stud failure and loos of a wheel and collateral damages.

i was thinking of getting longer wheel studs anyways so thats not a problem. so i could just put a spacer and should be fine? but i really do think its more than 1/4 inch difference

"The original Iroc-Z wheels in size 16x8" came with 0mm offset (front) and +12mm offset (rear wheels)."

ahh, thats different, you will need the larger spacer. Maybe look to see if you can find another wheel? usually they can be found as singles for a reasonable price.

Not sure i would go through all the work of longer studs and funky spacers for just one side of the car, thats just me.

Re: Iroc Rims: Rear wheel on front spindle?

Hello I am NEW today. I have a question as I am also a 3rd Gen owner long time now. I have to ask.
Certainly not all of you use those donut spare tires. I never had one anyway with my '88.
I really like to know, if someone cares to help a brother of the Camaro-struggle,? Where do we get
a highway worthy 16'' rim to fit front and rear of this Camaro. ? Any takers here. ?
I am tired of having
to depend on a 15 inch rim with a normal tire.
