will these rims fit my stock 92 rs??.. 18x9.5



...also what would be my best tire size? dropped already 1.5 inches

They should fit on the rear, might need to gently hammer your inner fender a bit.
They have too much backspacing for the front.

 

what if i get an 8.5 front??

 

275/35 for tire

fronts would fit need a small adapter depending on wheel center bore design as there wouldnt be clearance

rears would fit also might need small slip on spacer im bias as i like the Squared look and abilitly to rotate tires

with 8.5 you still have the possibility of having issues with the front hub

i would get 9.5 all around

 

Actually they will probably clear fine on the front. The tie rod is limiting on 17's but the extra diameter of the 18" wheel puts them out farther away from the tie rod. You will need to check the strut clearance at the top of the wheel

 

Yea I agree only issue I see is with the front hub and strut clearance like you said and noting a adapter cant fix

 

I using 18x9.5 on all 4 corners with a 6in backspacing. No rubbing nor spacers.. Fits perfectly in the fender well. No modding either.

 

Thanks guys....i went staggered 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear from element wheels from Arizona....they were a lot of help... they even special ordered hub rings and lug nuts and didnt cost me an arm and leg....now to figure wout what tire size to run

 

255/40/18 is the biggest on an 8.5"
285/35/18 is the biggest on a 9.5"

I spent ALOT of time finding the best tire for the money that would excel on both street and track. I went with the Bridgestone S-04. For street only I don't think you can go wrong with Nitto 555 street compound.

I have 10" and 9" wheels so I did 285s on back and 265s on front.

If you live in CA, you will get the best pricing from tirerack.com, no tax and shipping is cheap because it comes from Nevada.

 

245-40 on the front and 275-35 on the rear - all tires the same diameter.

Or you could move up to 255-40 and 285-35, which are slightly wider and taller (than the 245-/275 combo), but are the same height as each other.

Personally the 245/275 combo would be on my mind...

Bigchris - you just need 2" adapters with 4.75" bolt pattern to use those wheels. You can get a set of 4 on ebay for about $120.

Pretty sure a 245-40-18 has a taller sidewall than a 275-35-18. Diameter is closer than the sidewall differance, which is noticable to someone with a keen eye. Its minimal, but the front sidewall would be taller.

 

That is a good combo. I went with 8x18 with 245/40's in the front and 275/40's on 9.5's in the rear and my car is lowered about an inch. Check out my post on the same subject. titled 18's.

I'm runnin C6 Z06 wheels that are 18x9.5 all around. 245/40 tires all around (wanting something wider in the back in a street slick now).
4th gen rear and 2" spacers in the front. No rubbing at all and lowered on sportlines.

 

also any thoughts on putting 245/40/18 all around even though the rear is 1 inch wider then front? would the back still look wider since the rear wheel is wider?...like an opitcal confussion??

 

275 will only be shorter than a 245 if you use seperate aspect ratios. I think thats whats its called, if not...the second number. ha A 275/35 has a shorter sidewall than a 275/40. Thats why the sidewall on the rear tires of gregl316's ride look taller than the fronts...they're 275/40/18s. If they were 275/35's, they would have shorter sidewalls than the front.

The second number is a percentage of the width, which is the first number obviously. that determines the height of the sidewall. If you do the math 35% of 275 is less than 40% of 245, therefore the 275 tire would have a shorter sidewall...math doesnt lie. if i were you, id run the same sizes as gregl316. if not the front tire will look slightly taller.

the differenace between the 275/35 and 245/40 tires, is actually less than the differance between gregl316's tires, (245/40 and 275/40) so it really is barely noticable. Once you pick it up though, its noticable enough to bother you. At least it does me...especially when the math tells me the front sidewall is taller than the rear.

 

went with 245 40 18 on the rear and 225 40 18 on the fronts....

 

275/35/18 rear and 235/40/18 front gives you the closest to stock tire diameter. If you got wheels that wide, id bump up the tire width. 245 and 225 fit an 8" wheel

 

I have 245/40/18 in the front. And 245/45/18 in the rear. I need more tire in the front and rear I'm thinking about nitto555 and putting the all season back on for winter. It's my dd.

 

245/40/18 is 25.7 inches and 275/35/18 is 25.6 inches. Technically the front has a higher sidewall by .05 inches. That's 1.27mm. You'd have to have really good eyes to tell they're not the same.
