Best way to press wheel studs?
I have one of these presses:

This weekend I tried to press some studs into my rotors (I needed longer studs for my R15s) and I found that I had no way to support the rotor to press in the stud.
Which methods have you guys used to support the rotor?

That does't look like it would work with my rotor.
What I'd like to know is what you support the rotor with in the press. Do you use 2 square press blocks? What do people use?

Re: Best way to press wheel studs?
I usually use a hammer, ginormous punch, large socket, and selection of wood scraps to support the rotor for the socket.
Pretty "low tech" here. But I SURELY HAVE </si robertson> pressed a BUNCH of studs over the years.

BFH to "press" out, open end lug nut on backwards to "press" in.

Re: Best way to press wheel studs?
I have always pounded them in part way, then grabbed a bunch of washers and tightened on an open end lug nut until its seated. This time around I will use my press since I have one now
Keep in mind if you ordered the 0.509" arp's they will be a tight fit. I pounded my stock ones out last night and measured the ID. It was I think 0.472. Some guys say the open them up a tad. I know when I installed my last set they were a b**** to get in.
