I have a 1988 IROC with a stock length Ford 9”
I’m mini tubbing the car. It has ladder bar suspension. I need to know what the back spacing on my wheels need to be in order to fit a 275/ 60/ 15 drag radial
You'd almost be able to do that without tubbing. Can't quite say for sure. A 275mm with a stock height of 26" fits on a 0mm offset wheel just fine. You're tire is at 28". -Half on bottom, half on top, so really only 1" difference from stock. That's darn close to fitting both on the inside AND outside of the car. Since you're tubbing, and you know you'll have plenty of room inside the car, I might just go with a little more positive offset than a stock 0mm. Move the wheel IN just a little. Exactly how much though? I feel like you either need someone is direct hands on specs who has done it before, or you just need to take real world measurements and see what fits.
I am tubbed, stock length rear, and still had to measure. Wait until you are able to get all your dimensions, measured, not theoretical, and then measure to see what you can fit. If you are going to run a pretty tall tire, you're going to want to tuck the wheels a bit more or you'll cut them on the wheel well lip.
I have a stock width to a third gen Currie 9" Ford in my race car. My rear wheels are 15x8 with a 4.5" backspacing. Running a 275/60/15 Mickey-Thompson ET Street SS drag radials. I have zero clearance issues
