Spare Tire Options - 91 Formula
I have the original empty spare and long expired fill can so basically I have no spare tire. I would like to take the Formula on 2-3 day jaunts through our web of glorious mountain roads (TN and VA) but would prefer to have a functional spare, even just to get me to the next town.
Is there a "donut" spare that will fit in the spare tire well, or some other option?

newer cars... or at least I know the 89 V6 had an actual sapre. I think they did away with the inflator or only had that in the higher performance models...
you could also just pack a air pump... but you could only drive so far if you have a hole though

Buy an extra spare front wheel, throw a tire on it and toss it in the hatch.

Carry a pump in the car: a bicycle hand or foot pump, or a portable rechargeable electric pump. The original collapsible spare is likely to have cracks in the sidewalls when you inflate it, but it should still hold air and get you up the road to a place that can replace your flat tire.
A lot of late model cars don't come with spare tires, so a Corvette owner created this business:
Engineered Spare Tire Complete Kits For Modern Vehicles | Modern Spare
I've contacted them twice, but nobody gets back to me. Such a spare could be carried in the back of the car daily or just for road trips.
Some people have created their own similar spare by getting a front drag wheel of, say, 4" to 5" wide, with an appropriately sized tire mounted on it.

Re: Spare Tire Options - 91 Formula
I found an older thread on this very issue and found several other suggestions. For now I have purchased a used 4th gen spare from Hawk's. It won't fit in the spare tire well but at least I have a spare in the meantime. I like the idea of a drag wheel and skinny tire - I really want to find one that fits in the tire well.

Why not just look for the 3rd gen V6 spare then? It will fit in the V8 or V6 spare tire area, and if you find one in a junkyard, you'll likely find all the parts to make it attach to the stock parts and wil lfit right under the trunk plastics.
I have one, and its quite light weight and compact compared to a full size. and will save you the storage area. I never compared the equipment to the stuff from my inflatable spare, but I imagine itll be the same so youd just swap the tires out...
You need to remove the tire rest that the inflatable tire rests on though since the V6 spare is essentially always inflated and the rest would get in the way.. The V6 spare just sits on the bottom of the quarter

I did not know that the V6 cars had an inflated space saver. That's definitely something I will pursue. Thanks for the replies!
