Anybody with a Vortech have a custom 8 rib crank pully made?

I want to get one built with an underdrive on the accesory side and 8 rib on the supercharger side. Possibly a 10 rib. Any body done this?

I dont have any info for you but If you are going with custom pullys,ASP in TX is the best bar none. They made me a crank pully 1/8 shorter than stock to keep my pullys in line with my crank trigger mounted behind it and it was so dead on,excellent product. They deal with Vortech pullys all the time as they make many for the mustang crowd,Check em out

I had ASP make me some 8 rib pullies. It is 8 rib. I dont think you could fit a 10 rib on there. It is VERY tight on the top.

It cost me about $400+ and took over 6 weeks to get done since it was one off and not part of their normal manufacturing. That sucked.

Right now, I am fighting belt slip problems. I cannot keep the bracket from flexing under boost. Ive never thrown a belt off. But is slips like a ****.

I am in provess of building a brace for it and will have photos of that soon. My crank pulley is 1 piece with two sections on it. 6 rib for the accessory and 8 rib for the blower. its 7.5" dia (stock) and the blower pulley is 2.95".

I would MOST HIGHLY advise a brace of some sort if you are going to an 8 rib or larger. The bracket vortech supllies cant handle anything more than 6 in my opinion since its hanging out and is a cantilevered (sp?) load on it.

Here are some photos of my setup.

Good luck. If any questions ask.

Wow thanks for the pictures and the info. I actually never even thought about the bracket flexing. You think the belt is sliping because of this?

Im almost positive.

Ive tried it tight. Ive tried it not so tight. Ive tried a new belt. That actually didnt help ANY at all. lol

That pic with the ribs removed was the belt Ive gotten more boost with. lol

I have the same problem with my 6 rib. I was using a 3.33 SC pully, up from the stock 3.48, with the stock crank pully, and I was getting 10lbs of boost. I figured I would get more boost with a 3.12 pully. Not happening. I can't even get more then 8lbs now.

I figure with the limited area of the 6 rib, as I got smaller in diameter, I lost even more surface area. I actually thought an 8 rib would be better. Did you try a 3.125 pully? You might get some more boost. A 10 rib would do the trick if we can just fit in there. I think I'm going back to the 3.33 pully for now and get my boost back. Thanks for all your help.

Man, 10 ribs would be pushing it i think to get a radiator hose in there. Unless you could build another bracket that lowered the vortech further towards the ground.

Also, the sway bar gets really close when your down that low.

I have not tried another pulley. It costs too much and takes too long for me. Im planning on selling my Vortech and taking on another project this winter.

Ordered my custom 8 rib crank pully and 3.33" sc pully. With this combo I should see about 47,000 impeller speed at my shift point. Amount of boost? We shall see.

If you want to go to a wider belt,(10 rib or 12 rib),I cut off the top radiator outlet and TIG'ed a block-off plate then took a hole saw to the side of the radiator and TIG'ed in a 1 1/2" size tube, 90* elbow to let the hose snug right up against the engine side of the radiator.

http://www.cbrperformanceproducts.co...rib8.65ply.htm

Might be able to use this new 8.65 pulley made for prochargers, or their 7.65 pulley. Might have to shim it to get either to line up.
