pics of my duel 3"
finally took some pics. Hooker long tubes , duel 3" pipes , and duel 3"in/out Spintech's with a 3" case hight. and it does sound GOOD behind a 314 duration .600 lift hyd. roller cam. and no i don't have a way to provide a sound clip , but it is a deep rumble with a very throaty sound at 4000 rpm when the cam comes on . the frame is notched up to provide a way to route the pipes and still have ground clearance.

What mufflers are those? Your duals turned out way better than mine. Ive had my duals for 5 months or so and the mufflers are beat all to hell. It finally happened tonight. I completly ripped a muffler and most of the pipe off :sillylol:
I rolled over a manhole cover on a little hill and BAAAAAAMMMM. Then I noticed the sound of straight pipes and started laughing my *** off. In an ironic way its funny.
I have a 3'' hooker catback sitting in my room so thats going on when I order some hooker 2055s monday.
I wouldnt recommend duals to anyone. Yours turned out real well tho. I didnt have close to that kinda clearance.
BTW I like the car. I have an 88 two tone red/silver with the same rims and tires

can you give more information on notching the frame. Like what you used and how you reinforced it

where the frame is notched , the hole is welded up with 1/8" plate . it is stronger than what was cut out . so i wasn't to worried . you can see it in the second pic.

I have heard people say that running true dual with no H or X pipe sounds like a 4 cylinder because you are only running 4 cylinders on each pipe is this true?

on my friends 1970 chevelle with a 350 and true dual exuast with flowmaster 30 series with dumps he just put on the car. when he revs it, it sounds like an LS1 almost with the kinda exuast note it has. sounds good.
If you dont mind me asking, how much did that cost you to have done, I am currently looking for a place in my area to do it but I want to know if their prices are too high or not, part number for the mufflers would be great also.

Looks awesome.
I am planning on doing the exact same thing. Even the notch because I have the Spohn TQ arm. I am currently running a 3 in Y pipe under the crossmember and I have about 2 in of ground clearance at stock ride height. Yeah, I scrape on everything. I have a 4 in Spintech so I can imagine what yours sounds like.
Congradulations...

Anyone ever notice that the pitch of engines gets deeper as displacement increases. To me it is very noticable. Just a thought because of some one who mentioned that a dual exhaust with no crossover would sound like a 4 cylinder. Yeah, what ever...

That looks sweet. I like the setup, how does it sound? Does nopt having the tailpipes on those mufflers make a difference? Good/bad?

Got a qusetion,With notching out the frame like you did is the frame still strong enough to hold a decent amount of horse power

It's all about exhaust design and airflow... how fast and how much air flows. This as someone already stated is determined by displacement, head design and the camshaft.

FYI.... If your worried about ground clearance you can always have spintech cut down the cases.
Im going with All Spintech Oval pipe into a x pipe and spintech muffs. I was wondering how to notch the frame for better clearance etc.. Great Pic's now to determin how I want to place the X-pipe. If I go out and notch the frame and back in for the X that alota dang oval pipe and its not cheap to get maderal bends in oval.
Mmmmm,

The exhaust note is indeed mostly the result of the V10's firing order.

I doubt it. Half a 350 is bigger than a 151 and it idles a lot slower over those 4 cylinders. Plus he's got headers on there which give it a deeper grunt than a hack I would guess.

the firing order plays a big part in the sound. for instance a 5.0L mustang vs 5.0L camaro. big big big sound difference.

Yup... thats why if you listen to a really rodded out BBC with the factory firing order, it sounds alot rougher than on with a 4-7 swap.
