Whenever they have something I want on clearance I buy it. Their regular prices aren't anything special, but when they're clearing something out, it's as cheap as anywhere else online, and you get the advantage of buying from a company with a much better reputation.

I got my JVC DVD player there, and of course I took advantage of the free mounting kit and wiring harness even though I have no need for them.

Well I'll be an "azz" if I want to. They charge way too much. Jim is right if its on clearance, maybe I would buy it. Otherwise it's way way way way way too expesive.

i think that might be because they're authorized dealers of many products...thats why sounddomain is more expensive too

Exactly. You're not only paying for your product - you're paying for exceptional customer service, an amazingly lenient return policy, and a great deal of helpful advice and tips from their staff.

Everyone these days is only interested in what's cheapest. That's all that matters. Then they wanna whine when nearly every American company outsources their jobs to foreign....ah, forget it.

yeah, crutchfield is decently well known, but more expensive than most online stores due to them being authorized sellers. one bonus of going through them is they you get all the wiring adapters you could need for your car free. however, since i didnt really use any of the extras, wasnt really beneficial for me. like jim said, when they clearance something, its a great deal because you're getting a warrenty, you're getting a good price, and you're getting good service. overall, i'd say they are a great company with great service, just a bit on the expensive side.

Yeah, there is know way that knowone could possibly not KNOW crutchfield.

It's amazing to me how many people that I KNOW that can't spell and still rip on other people...

There is nothing in the world that I hate more than a bully. At least spell check your flames before you start acting like a d*ck.

Who cares about customer service when Etronics.com is like half the price, and I've ordered 4 sets of speakers for different people/vehicles, and had no problem either...

Another good place to order from.

I have found that another good place to order from is Parts Express . Their prices are much more competitive than Crutchfield's are. Some of you may have heard of them, but for those of you that have not, there's the link. The best place I've found so far is definetely Ebay.

Customer service is something that people usually learn about the hard way. After they spend all kinds of money on a stereo full of "great deals" that sounds like a pile of crap, they hear somebody elses stereo that they overpaid for at a local shop. After the first person buys a 2nd whole "bargain stereo" he winds up spending way more than the other guy who overpaid once.

Customer service also means a lot when you have a broken piece of stereo equipment in your posession.

I buy from etronics and I've had great experiences, but I've also been lucky enough not to need any warranty work done. I buy most of my electronics online because I know the ins and outs of these products well enough that I don't need guidance from somebody else. BUT... that's not the case with the majority of buyers out there, no matter how knowledgable they think they are. Most people would save a lot of money by spending a little bit more at a local shop instead of buying online or at BB/CC.

eck, if you tried to buy a pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's... You'd would be looking at nearly $500 at a local custom audio shop (I checked last weekend at Alpha Audio). But on Etronics you can order a flawless, brand new pair for, I think $214 now... If they are in stock. You are right, however in the sense that people who are not car audio "literate" should not go for these deals, especially if they might order the wrong thing. I personally don't mind ordering things off of Ebay, but Etronics is almost the same exact price so I trust them more, but whatever.
