What the *****? need help(non 3rd gen though)

Hey, ok here's the problem...in my s-10 xtreme i have two 10 in soundstorm labs 600w max subs powered by a soundstrorm labs 1000w max amp. the problem now is that the sub behind the driver seat is not playing/hitting as loud/hard as it should..it sounds muffled compared to the other... i took out the head unit, checked all connections at unit and amp, checked all wires from amp to subs and tried adjusting levels...what am i doing wrong or what may be wrong??..i am gonna stop at the sound shop tommarrow on my way home but any suggesions.:hail:

Pull that sub outta the box. I bet there's a little smoke that's gonna come with it. If so, then you smoked it.

You don't have to take it out to tell though. Just turn the system off, go to the good sub and push it down a little with your fingers. Push down equally on opposite sides of the sub so it goes staight in, and don't push hard. Take a mental note of how it felt and how easy it was to push.

Now go to the other sub. If it's harder to push in and/or makes a scraping noise when it goes in or out, then you blew it. It's done, put a fork in it and get another.

Thanx for the help, but i figured it out, actually dad helped me figure it out... luckily i had the kenwood head unit i initially had in the truck in my trans am, and a newer kenwood in the truck...so both have the same harness plug so i put the old unit in and wouldnt you know it it works fine...so i am guessing the rca outs on the newer radio are bad....:hail:

Hey what's up... NJ here. I have a crapload of Soundstorm Labs stuff in my car (see sig). The amp I've had for about 3 years now, and I think it's starting to crap out on me. The speakers I got are a couple months old, and sound awesome with a high pass filter. If you're looking to save money for decent upgrades over stock, I highly suggest these guys. Their CD headunits aren't the best though... they tend to skip once in a while. You can find their stuff mostly on Ebay or www.huggmeister.com

Let me know how your Soundstorm System holds up.
