1991 Camaro Convertible desert baked restro

Over the summer I found this convert on CL for $1000 I had $500 on me so I offered it for the car delivered, delevery was a no go but accepted the offer otherwise countered with 450 so i could get a trailer, again accepeted. I figured I'd use it for parts untill I saw what I had just got. Here are some before and after pics, so far new fuel pump/filter, top, window motors, and a DEEP cleaning. (15" rims are temp, can't find tires in stock atm)

Thinking of an orange and black stripe paint scheme and a modern V6 for the 305 TBI, this is going to be the daily driver and cruser, my 92 will someday be the hot rod.

Re: 1991 Camaro Convertible desert baked restro

Oh yeah loads of dust, pulled the whole dash and flushed the entire vent system. I never liked the verts that much thought they looked weird and t-tops look great but it is fun to drive with the top down, but its a pia to keep the new rear window clean out here in the dusty desert but another month or 2 and the top will be down. My fiancee is going to be driving this one (if she can handle it) when the 92 in the 3 pic (under the cover) gets some $$$ or enough freebees.

Dust is easy to deal with. Rust - not so much.

Way to pull the trigger on an unknown. I would love to find a car like that for $450.

Re: 1991 Camaro Convertible desert baked restro

Great find, great deal, great car - I have a '90 RS 'vert, and mine was sold new in Las Vegas - spent most of the rest of it's life in San Diego, and was trailered here. If my car had been in Maine for these 20 years, it wouldn't have an undercarriage left. Good luck with your new car - I'll have mine looking that good in another year, or so . . .
