Wiper switch dissasembly/repair
After a month of tracing wires on the weekend and reaching dead ends, I have discovered that my wiper switch in the column is where my problem lies. I have a switch from a parts car, and the electrical part of it is good, but the lever is broken.
So I need to make one good switch out of two bad ones. Here are pics of the two parts I need to take apart and put back together:
Pics from E-bay and Autozone, not my actual parts (these are identical though)
I just don't want to pull mine apart and break something. Has anyone done this before, how do you separate the two?
Thanks

Pull the turn signal stalk out of the switch (all the signal stalk does is actuate the actual switching parts within the column with a set of levers). You will have to disassemble the upper half of your steering column down to the tilt assembly to get the switch out.

I can get down in the column to the switch in a few minutes, that is not a big deal.
Is there a trick to getting it out though? How does it twist out, I felt like I was going to break it when I tried to twist it.

The turn signal stalk merely pulls straight out of the hole in the wiper switch. Twisting it WILL break it...

Okay, I was able to get it apart. I will be taking my column apart tomorrow to try and get this all working. Thanks for your help.

Re: Wiper switch dissasembly/repair
My switch was bad in the column.
I have to deal with this again though, the electronics in the cover over the motor are bad and I need to replace the electronic unit. I haven't driven the Camaro since 2009, but I working on the brakes now and will be driving it on the weekends this summer.

I had the same issue with the wipers jumping in and out of park. I can pretty well guarantee you it isn't the switch. I replaced the motor and cover both and it solved it. I think it was a bad contact between the park switch and the cover because it fell off when I opened it up.

Re: Wiper switch dissasembly/repair
My wipers are constantly on due to the fact the previous order snapped the turn signal stalk off and busted the wiper switch. Guess I'll be replacing the turn signal and wiper switch just to make sure everything working right.
