Engine swap motor mount question

Ok, so I'm getting deeper into the swap and its time to get my paws on some motor mounts I was looking at these

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par..._242102_12551_

Are they chassis side mounts? The motor I bought is a 89 TBI 350 and came with the motor side mounts. Will these attach to the aftermarket mounts with out any problems? Also are the poly worth the extra cash over the steel?

Please and thank you!

ETA The motor currently in my 91 camaro is a V6. Not sure how big, but its junk and gone!

Re: Engine swap motor mount question

from what i researched, they are the same. in my 86 there are holes already drilled out for motor mounts that are just forward of the v6 motor mounts.

Re: Engine swap motor mount question

I also wondered about the zip ties lol. When I searched motor mounts the ones you linked also came up. The ones I linked were poly. Unsure what the difference was. I also beleive the K is the same, with the mounts only being moved forward. This is something that hasn't really been specified enough on any swap thread I have read so far. I bet 5-7 can shed some light hopefully

Re: Engine swap motor mount question

The K member is the same, the bolt holes are there for both engines.

Just buy the motor mounts for a 1990 Camaro with a vin code 8 350. Get the stock ones, you don't need poly with a stock TBI 350. The problem you will have is that your engine is going to set up too high in the engine bay.

The clamshells that bolt to the side of your truck engine will space the engine up higher than the proper Camaro shells will. You need to hit the wrecking yard and get yourself some clamshells from a 3rd gen V8 car, any set will do.

While you're at the wrecking yard, look at where the motor mounts are bolted to the frame. These are the same holes in YOUR crossmember that you will bolt your motor mounts to.

Re: Engine swap motor mount question

You need to relocate your brake lines on the kmember (no big deal). Also there is a left and right clamshell. One number is 340 something and the other is 140 and longer. There's a few post within a month or so that I explained which side they go on.

Re: Engine swap motor mount question

the rubber motor mounts that are bolted to the frame are like $8 at autozone. now for the metal ones that go to the motor, check junk yards.
