Nooooo!
Sorry to hear about the damage Phil. No damage to the paintwork or centre console is there? Your insurance should cover side glass shouldn't it? And the stereo?

Andy.

Phil, that is terrible. What happened, did you leave it in a dodgy parking space? You had a trick stereo in there too did you not? Man I am gutted for you. One positive thing though- at least you still have your car! Imagine if you had lost the whole shooting match, or worse if they had stolen the stickers off your doors

We are meeting up this month for a beer my man.

I am leaving this open for now as it is interesting to hear about insurance and how you will source the side glass etc

Truly sorry mate, what a start to 2004

That's just so wrong. Don't know if it'll help, but you could try DB Motors on 01858 880171 for a new window.

ok, here's how it panns out so far.

insurance won't cover glass.

insurance will cover the head unit, up to £250

my excess is £250.

a trip to Goodalls American this morning netted me a used window for £50

i'm just gonna have to stomach loosing the stereo.

I feel your pain, although I may be able to sort you out with a new head unit at near-cost price. I have one in my car....it's a JVC and it's good quality. Let me know mate.

Sorry to hear about that Phil, major bummer. It ends up being easier just to pay for the stuff out of your own pocket rather than claim the insurance - it happenned to me on my daily driver a while back. Even if the damage total is a fair bit higher than the excess, losing the no-claims is not a nice option for most people!

I hope you find a new stereo that suits you soon. Try the Halfords sale, or even better www.caraudiodirect.co.uk. Good luck!

For you, around £60 for a front load CD player, although I only deal with suppliers of JVC I'm afraid.
