Should the exhaust smell funny now?
ok i just got my hooker headers on and did away with the cat...exhaust smells pretty funny now but im guessing this is normal?

I take it by now the smoke has cleared, that is if you got the uncoated. The grease, inside paint, and now your car isn't running as clean. It is hard to say what a rich motor smells like but that might be it as well.

when u have a cat it turns most of your exhaust to carbon dioxide........ when u dont , it doesnt lol so theres ur smell for you....... its a smell taht should almost like hurt ur eyes

it smells more hot that anything not really like eggs at all...does irritate your eyes some could also be the paint inside the headers burning off...so far the paint hasnt came off the outside like i heard it would

it only smells for a couple days. but if you have exhaust dumps like i do, you get the fumes forever! dont worry your eyes will adjust and pretty soon only your friends eyes will burn.

I know that generally speaking, that an egg smell (which I am currently having) is a sign that you need a tune-up or that the cat has gone bad.
I just did a full blown tune-up and took my emissions just prior to that and everything passed, but I know my cat is pretty much worthless right now. I feel so ghetto at a stop light when the smell is real prevailent. Anyways......

and not to be confused with snot, which irritates your nose :lala: ......sorry had to be a moron for a few seconds there..lol....the smell should go away soon...then youll get used to breathing in raw exhaust gas and be like me:lala:

yeah the nasty smell went away...still have the unfiltered exhuast smell tho...im used to it now but my mom drove my car around town and came back complaining about the smell and said it hurt her eyes i was like o you get used to it
