just picked up a 87 maui blue trans am in toronto canada
its been in a garage for 10 years. owner was keeping it for his son. he finally gave it to his son he sold it to me. he likes hondas.
not a bad car so far. has the 9 bolt 327 gear disk brake axle in it factory. it has original 110 000 kilometers. around 65 000 miles. was it common for 87 trans ams to get the 9 bolt 327 disk brake axle?

Nice car. Its a WS6 which is nice. Too bad its only got the LG4. My 86 had that motor and it wasnt so fun. haha.
Looks like you got a really clean car though! I love that color, but I thought maui blue was lighter? Ive only seen maui on formulas though, so the silver GFX might be screwing me up.
That thing looks super straight, and the paint looks nice too. Does it need anything from sitting? Or was it driven occasionally? Im glad you ended up with it instead of honda boy
Thanks for sharing!

i think maui blue came up on one of the option codes but i could be wrong. anyone?
ya lg4 sucks but no h.o carb for 87. its great no airpump on it! canadian car i guess.
Re: just picked up a 87 maui blue trans am in toronto canada
Okay, I do not think that is maui blue. It is too dark. Also, it isn't 3.27, it has to be 2.77 because I didn't see option G92. I may be wrong, but I think it is 2.77.
None the less, it is a nice car and I would definitely drive it. The Blue over silver isn't something you see everyday. I like it a lot.

Re: just picked up a 87 maui blue trans am in toronto canada
Hi , nice car first off . I own an all original '89 stock Firebird in med. maui blue and silver. Paint isn't great but the side of the car isn't faided and it does look lighter than your car . Did prev. owner repaint it because GM had some paint problems in late 80's to early 90's . Problems in paint or primer can't remember . My silver is flakeing and that is the big problem w/paint.
Re: just picked up a 87 maui blue trans am in toronto canada
I think the color was simply called "medium blue metallic", but I'm not positive.
My friends Mom used to have an '87 the exact same blue/silver, and it's my fav color combo. Here's a picture I took of it back in '88, I was 9 years old then, lol. I know the pic is crappy but I took it with a Polaroid camera, and the scratches are in the pic, not the car. I'd like to know if that car is still around now, or if it's been crushed.
