Well...I can do it real cheap.. probably $8-10/panel. If you just want primer and color. Clear is another $4-5/panel. I'll spend an hour prepping each panel and an hour afterwards finishing. $60/hr...thats like 3 hours a panel times...2x fender, 2x door, 2x quarterpanels, hood, 2x bumpers.
Materials:
Primer/Paint/Clear = $135 (top of the line DupliColor)
Sandpaper/steel wool = $6
Labor:
27 hrs @ $60/hr = $1,620
Total: $1,761.
I can get that done in one day by the way. Let me know.

thats sweet. so u can wet sand that stuff? do u buff it to?
cuz thats y I hate doing anything flat if u get dirt init you are screwed
I've never seen it buffed but I assume you could you can wet sand the stuff smooth as glass though the guy we got the idea from his car was really very nice looking for a 150 dollar paint job
I always heard people painted their cars flat black so that when the cops headlights shine on them from a distance away they will have a harder time seeing them because the light won't flicker. It always seemed dumb to me because they still have the radar.

true but flat black paint also tends to suck up the lazer if there using lazer that is
i did my old caprice in flat black rust sealer paint. Looked alright and concidering the car was a rust bucket, when it was all said and done, made a hell of a difference.

That is false. There have been tests done to see if that indeed was true, and it does not effect it. Mostly because it is not really hitting the car.. but the windshield. front grill, bumper, or lisense plate.

Now that would depend on where its aimed now wouldent it? the reason for the laser is that its pin point as where the standard radar guns arc out in a wide path and more or less hit traffic in general a laser regardless of weather its visible or not is light and black things soak up light thats fact
the chances of success byy painting a car flat black in the hopes of avoiding a laser gun is pretty slim. you could paint you car with the same material as a stealth fighter, and regualr radar would not pick you up, but the laser still will. and that is flat black as well. Like i said it's been tested.
Now on the topic of visual looks. a flat painted car could look rather cool. especially if it had non-flat accents to it.

I didnt say it was fool proof I said It helped obviously nothing is fool proof when dealing with radar or laser equiptment than a jammer (radar only) but to say it wouldent do anything is obviously untrue its 5th grade science that black sucks up light weather it be the visible spectrum or otherwise
so your saying paint the entire car and the windows to avoid lasers... hahah kidding. I want the car painted flat black... then i had some ideas for details and such. i just don't have the space to spray a whole car.
i was gonna go with either the real fire on the sides.... either green or normal colors...

red racing stripes...
or gloss black stripping....
haven't decided
I would do red scallops with a gloss black stripe around em and maybe some lettering on the wing could be pretty cool
Best part is it only costs 20-30 dollars a gallon and dosent use any reducer
He is right- I used to work at the local John Deere store- this **** is tough, and if it scratches you just buff it right out again or spray over it, its heat resistant up to 500* or something like that too.. Also prevents rust and for use on all kinds of under body materials...

Yeah that would look cool...Sorry... I spelled it incorrectly as well, as its "Hearse" as Herse has no meaning and well... the hurst is on Oldsmobile or a shifter Anyway....Sorry...
Its paint so priming would be good but we never really have we just sprayed it over old scuffed paint on parts with bodywork i would definatly primer first though
I painted my lumina with the flat black rustoleum too, i only ended up about 30 bucks in the paintjob and a weekend. it turned out pretty good, and once again, about 20 feet and it looks really sweet. the only thing is finding it in a parking lot in the dark really sucks . I wouldnt recommend it on a car you really care for a lot though.
