Blow Thru Carbs (what are you using?)
Just trying to see what people are using for blow through carbs?
Modified holley? quick fuel? BG Demon? etc etc...
Im debating modifying my awesome holley 750 or buying a new BG carb. I read some scary stuff about carbs being made out of a billet of aluminum, which has got me confused.

We have been using QuickFuel with the Buicks. 3 motors at the 1000+ hp level with 850's, one streetable at 900 hp with a 750. Will be trying a 650 on a small block Buick (370 ci) and then putting it on my 462 big block and see how that works. All of these are Procharged running from 8 to 18 psi.

Any particular reason? I was considering them actually, just cuz i have had real good success with their N/A carbs, but the aluminum aspect has me second guessing.
Im not actually sure, but are the BG carbs aluminum or Zinc?

I have a BG and for the track, it seems great. But on the street I don't like it. I have a real hard time getting the primary side tuned right. It used to be very inconsistent too, until I cleaned it five times and found a bunch of metal shavings.
I paid 400 bucks for it used and personally, I can't justify spending 900 on a carb. I'd rather go efi. Carbs are easy to get close, but it takes a real pro to get them perfect.
I have heard great things about CSU and C&S carbs "out of the box".

I would use either CSU or Pro-Systems for a gas motor and C&S for E-85 or straight methanol. We ran a Pro-Systems on our Drag Radial car with the F-1R and 383 on gas,and ran really well, didn't have to even rejet it,ran 5.89 120mph 1/8 mile with a 1.37 60 ft on drag radials and 3700 lb race weight. We are running a C&S Alcohol carb on our new 18* 434 sbc with the F-1R Procharger running methanol. Haven't got to run it yet,we are hoping for at least 5.30's 1/8 mile.

Thanks guys, thats helpful information.
One of the hardest things about making this decision was the lack of info on blow thru BG carbs. I cant seem to find anyone whos using one.
I think ive made my decision.

Re: Blow Thru Carbs (what are you using?)
I have one and am selling it real soon. They say its only meant for under 10 psi. I think it would be a good carb for someone only making 550-600fwhp, but I don't like it at my 700+ level. It doesn't transition well with that much air, even though I'm only pushing 9 psi.
When I go turbo, I will use a better carb.
