Already got me a carbide blade for the multi tool...should cut it like butter.

So without unbolting the hinge from the car, (which I'm trying to avoid) there isnt enough wiggle room to remove and...

Yeah, extremely high volumes aren't the greatest, but im cool with it. Overall, im happy with the way it turned out.

Next step is replacing the walmart special Pioneer speakers with something...

I found the info I needed. Just a bit a digging around found that they changed plugs in 89. So i just found wiring diagrams for both plugs and that was it. This place is great!

So im trying to wire in a factory head unit with the EQ from a later year 3rd gen into my 86 IROC. The wire harness that is in the car wont fit the radio so Im left to splice the wires together.

Yep, but they wont seperate the kit.

I ended up ordering the full kit. I'll just change out all the weatherstrip to be safe. Only problem is that the kit is on backorder. :doh:

Yeah, I just did buy the car and it does have an aftermarket radio.

It does seem that the switch is working fine, I get a "click" when I pull back on it.
