How does that throw out bearing work? Does it replace the slave cylinder or something? If so that might be what I need to do because I would rather not chop up my headers just to get them to fit

Yeah that's the goal at this point. The inside of the car smells like exhaust so until I can save some money up for a 350 swap and headers then this will do for now. Thanks everyone for all the info...

Thanks. That's what I was thinking too. Also the previous owner was using a 30A fuse! No wonder the wires fried and didn't pop the fuse. Idiot
