The 3 core radiator should keep you cool. You said you have the air dam in place, but is all the nose radiator shrouding in place too? It was meant to direct airflow through the radiator.

If you're on the compression stroke both valves will be closed on the cam base circle and if you can put a finger in #1, then as you approach TDC you'll feel a rush of air past your finger.

There are numerous intermediate gaskets that are used on Rochesters. Make sure you use the proper ones or this could happen. Also, make sure your rebuild kit if for your serial number carb.

You can also tune your system by reversing polarity on a certain speaker to tone down harshness or a certain tone. For example if a tweeter is too bold, you can reverse the polarity to tone it down.

The only issue with third gens are that the rear speakers face each other, canceling bass response. You can add an amp and wire one speaker out of phase from the other. This will add more response....

Go get or rent a fuel pressure kit. Run the hose into window or where you can view while driving. Run it and watch the pressure. Most likely you may need a regulator or maybe the pump is failing.
