Re: weather strip problems

Did you seal everything up with the good 3M weatherstrip adhesive/sealer?

Always a good idea to check the tech articles... I see a T-Top weatherstrip install guide and a leak fix guide.

Re: Door Hinge Troubles...

First of all, keep in mind this involves taking off the front clip, fenders, and hood, to even get to the hinges (unless you have some crazy wrenches). Not a big deal if it's a project, though...

Re: Door lock lube?

Spray tube of white lithium works best for me, unless it's a 'sticky' lock. Silicone-type lubricants seem to gum things up after a while.

Re: Bushing (need help)

Pretty sure all thirdgen's have a 'rivet'-style top hinge. You can drill them out and use the 'oversize' bushings with a normal pin -- takes a little effort and wouldn't be as durable, but it works....

Re: Floor Plugs

Pretty sure they are on RockAuto somewhere... Think it's an oval shaped plastic plug, which you'd have to pop upwards and out underneath the carpet.

Re: Sprayable fiberglass resin

The AutoBodyStore has it, but I've never had any experience with it. I guess the idea is to use it as a seal coat for enamel over bondo, but I'm not too sure.

Re: I need advise on instaling/uninstaling fendres/bumpers on my 91 firebird

tip wise... all I can tell you is bag your parts. I know it's the number one rule, but forgetting can cause headaches.

Alignment is the biggest pain... but be patient and you'll get through it...

Re: Ever use POR-15 ?

Por15 is great, but I refuse to buy from a company that's only form of marketting is setting up FAKE enthusiast sites that only have two articles, one of which is a shining review of por15.

Re: Got hit in the rear today, does this look totaled?

Certainly looks manageable... Insurance wise it'd come out to a fortune with the replacement parts, but fixing it yourself wouldn't take too much effort.

Re: Undercoating

You could try zero-rust. It's a bit thinner and more primer-like, but it's half the price of por15 and usually available at napa.

So, basically I should sand everything down with a block, and then level and prime all the low spots.

Would it be a good idea to "glaze" the whole car? And would that require a full priming?
