You can get the tank from Spectra without the filler neck welded in place. The fill neck can be purchased separately. In theory, you could order the 2 parts and secure them with a hose and clamps.....

Here it is all burned in. I was careful in grinding the welds so I wouldn't need very much body filler. Just a real thin skim coat is all I'll need.

Here it is all welded in. You have to tack weld it, making sure to stagger your tacks in order to avoid too much heat, which could result in warping. It looks ugly but you grind the welds anyway. As...

I don't think they are. I went to the U-pull it with my cordless sawzall and cut out what I needed. If you do that just make sure the piece you cut is larger than you need. It's easier to trim it...

I can't get the top nuts off holding the rear absorber. The bolts were lightly pressed into the absorber and now they're spinning with the nut. I can't reach the bolts with vise grips, its too narrow...

I agree with keeping the TPI. I was thinking about dropping in a LS motor but decided to keep the now classic TPI... I like being old school. Besides, the low end torque is a lot of fun!
