The governor is located on the back of the transmission on the drivers side. Use a screw-driver and hammer to pry off the cover and the governor should wiggle right out. Be careful not to damage...

I couldn't get my governor gear to go on my old governor, so I ordered a used one with a new gear, so we'll see if it works with the old gear broken off inside the tranny.

My car wasn't shifting out of first gear, so I bought a new governor gear. I took my governor out and this is what I found. There was NO gear on the end of the governor. So, I'm sure it's broken...

I would just ask him how he did such a thing when you had the doors locked. Sounds to me like the doors were probably left unlocked. The auto tech may have locked the doors after he was done...

The governor gear is trashed and it's time to get a new one. They are very cheap. You can probably get a new gear and cover for under $30. Hope that helps.
