Interesting.. I thought the CCM was DIRECT FED.. now I cannot remember what it was other then the ECM..
So again I have to ask why swap it out.. other then to 'clean' the engine compartment...

Car: 89 vette, with 1991 ECM and CCM
Computer:
MacBookPro Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz 2 gig ram

No 84-89 had no CCM/BCM, it is standalone like the F-body. the CCM also controls, the OEM Alarm, VATS, Dome light timer, stuff like that.
Don't feel dumb, but if you forgo a CCM in a dash...

the CCM (Central Control Module) is the master on the serial bus ont he 90-later cars, it controls the LCD...

I too would liek to run the LT1 PCM mainly to keep the CCM happy..
As for MAP/MAF Y-cars:
