Interesting.. I thought the CCM was DIRECT FED.. now I cannot remember what it was other then the ECM..

So again I have to ask why swap it out.. other then to 'clean' the engine compartment...

CCM gets its speed from the VSS directly, not the ECM..

Car: 89 vette, with 1991 ECM and CCM

Computer:
MacBookPro Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz 2 gig ram

Interface: USB to OBD 1

First I was running OSX and had Windows...

No 84-89 had no CCM/BCM, it is standalone like the F-body. the CCM also controls, the OEM Alarm, VATS, Dome light timer, stuff like that.

Don't feel dumb, but if you forgo a CCM in a dash...

the CCM (Central Control Module) is the master on the serial bus ont he 90-later cars, it controls the LCD...

Let me know when you are ready on the dash stuff, I have a ton of info. Yeah MAF/MAP would be nice, but when you get to the 90-newer you have to deal with the CCM, I have a 91 CCM in my car and a 92...

This is why the Scan and tune board at CF is slow.. If I could run my vette off of an LT1 ECM I have the correct 92 CCM for it, then I get all the cool extra features.. I have even thought...

I too would liek to run the LT1 PCM mainly to keep the CCM happy..

As for MAP/MAF Y-cars:

84- MAP
85-89 MAF
90-93 MAP (90-91 L98, 92-93 LT1)...
