I had the same problem, I ended up stripping the adapter, so i used the other adapter and put it in the head. or go to a hardware store and get a stronger adapter. The brass is to weak.

I had this same problem. My car would start week, then when i would drive it for about 10 min, turn it off, then try to start it again. Nothing. I got a new starter. Starts better than new.

What size engine is it? Cause you said its hard to turn over. I have a 355. Im about 220 and fit, and it sucks to try to turn over with a socket, so i wouldn't say that its seized.
