I agree....the paint still looks 'dark' to me...i believe the silver used back then was a lighter shade of silver. Oh well, it does look good. Looking forward to driving it next weekend.

very nice IROC...i remember being in the Army in 1988 and there was a 1985 Iroc in Yellow with the L69...it had the HO emblem on the rear bumper. It was parked in the same spot for a year or so...

Thanks for the response guys....he intends to retain the blue color for now. I only recall gold/silver/charcoal around the Z28s from 82-87. The later RS models had some other interesting colors...

Talking about the rear bumper marker.... from what i can tell... the 83-84 HO were stickers and the 85-86 rear were emblems.

I had my 86 z28 repainted. It was stripped down to metal and sprayed with base/clear coat. The guy didn't do anything after the clear like polish or buffing.

Rare - 1984 Trans Am HO air cleaner (hood intake)

Placed in storage since 1992, this is rust free and even has the original rubber seal which connects the air cleaner to the hood for a tight air seal. As original as it gets in 2010!

Problem solved!

Just wanted to follow up on my ordeal and its closing.

I had multiple problems which kept piling up. A fan motor that blew, a coolant fan relay that died and a fan and shroud which would not spin...

Well, seems advance auto parts ordered the wrong relay. They ordered a relay with 5 prongs instead of the factory 4 prongs. The extra connection (though unused) must have caused a loop where it was...

I was forced to remove the original fan and shroud. When i remounted them, the fan hits/sticks to parts of the shroud and blows the fuse.

I'm having a tough time...
