well, i now got 150k on the clock got a little bit of start up smoke (but hey thats chevys pre start-up lubercation ) anyway oil psi runs about 20-25 at idle (at oper. temp) and about 35 cruising, i am running 15w50 mobile 1 , personaly i think the engine has enough on miles on it to run a heavy oil and its driven like a car should be
i have had it since 100k / 8 years ago, i think the p.o. ran quaker misteak because it has some sludge in it when you pop the vc's off
so should i flush it with engine flush it (gunk, diesel, trans fluid) or should i just let it be

i have flushed engs. on all my cars/trucks about twice a year . ( as old as i am i have had a few ) anyway on our cars sludge build-up is a problem on the drain holes of the cylinder heads . when they become sludged up oil can't drain as fast as it should back to crankcase . the drains are at the lower front and rear of the cylinder heads . next oil change , pull valve covers , clean drains with screwdriver-probe-what ever is handy . then blow compressed air through them . re-install valve covers , add flush agent , run car reasonable for a few miles , change oil . has worked for me . good luck .
I'd "flush" it slow.
At next oil change put in 1 quart of synthetic and the rest dino juice.
Next change - 2 quarts of synthetic and the rest dino juice.
Next change - 3 quarts.............
I've run Mobil 1 10W-30 in my car since it was new, first oil change at 1000 miles, then every 5 to 10K so it don't have any crud inside, but I have used 1 qt. of automatic trans fluid on a few other vehicles and it seems to clean really good, drive it for a week and then change fluid. I tried Seafoam on my Camaro a few years ago by pouring it directly down the throttle body bores and didn't get much smoke at all.
