What is this part?

1985 firebird LG4
What is this? It was spliced into the vac line to the brake booster, it's not a check valve, or if it was it's broken, I can blow through it easily both ways.

Re: What is this part?

Anything special about it? Can I replace it with say an inline fuel filter so I can ditch the 90?

Any idea if they make them without the 90 on the one side, I'm not trying to be cheap, just want the 90 gone

it has to be on a 90. Doesn’t go in.ine, look in your manual. It calls out the angle it has to be on.

Re: What is this part?

Ok, does the 90 go toward the booster or the manifold? I didn't take a picture when I pulled it out and it's been about 3 weeks. Leave it to me to forget the little things

The filter elbow faces the sky; the booster check valve nipple is approximately horizontal.
