yeh those camaros are pretty slow if they still have the stock motor in them that is i hate thier bodystyle but i liked it when they started putting the gfx on them like @ the late 70's early 80's

I have to disagree with how you see 2nd Gens. The best looking Camaro os all time had to be the 70-72 Camaro, with the split bumper and Vette Tali lights. I also like 79 Camaros. Personally, Ive always had a thing for 2nd Gens over a 3rd Gen and actually am considering trading mine off for a 79 Camaro. Everyone has their own opinion and I agree they were WAYYYY underpowered but that was rough itmes then. Hell 3rd Gens were nothing impressive until the TPI came around and even TPI isnt THAT great compared to anything today.

a G92 L98 should beat a old 1st gen 302 or 350 (stock) a poor gear L98 will prob still win by not much tho. those 302s can rev high tho

An M6 LS1 car would embarass just about every muscle car of the good old days. An engine with more cubic inches always has more potential than one with less.

i agree 110 percent shifty.. Buy what bout those good old Boss Mustangs that ran 12s? Also i dont understand.. A 1st gen camaro with say 290hp 302 cubic inch, why would it run high 14s? I heard the 1st gens where the lightest years... So why would a heavy 245hp l98 take a lighter 302 `1st gen. Im just bit confused

probably just the way stuff was made back then, tires were non sticky heavy lunkers, transmissions absorbed a little more power and the 302 had around 345hp if i remeber correctly, plus those numbers that were posted during the day. Also those numbers, included driver delay and probably double clutching. Alotta trees now adays start when you launch, though some still are just the old school light assembly

you probably read about the 290hp rating tons of times, but obviously you haven't heard the observation that it was closer to 390hp...underrated for reasons i can't remember from that show
