i just put an edelbrock 1405 performer carb and performer intake on my 86 305 camaro. but there is no tv cable hookup on the throttle linkage of the new carb.
tci sells an Edelbrock® carburetor TV Cable geometry corrector kit part number 376710
and a 700R4 & 2004R Carter® AFB™, Quadrajet™, Edelbrock® TV Cable Bracket part number 376700
if i buy these parts i should be able to hook up my tv cable correctly right??
do i really need the second part, the bracket, or can i use my stock one??
The stock bracket will mount the TV cable too far forward. I believe I've tried that particular bracket you mention. It works best with a thick carb gasket, but you might have trouble using the vacuum break port on the back of the carb, or on manifolds.
so i need the edelbrock carburetor TV Cable geometry corrector kit part number 376710
and the bracket and a 700R4 & 2004R Carter® AFB™, Quadrajet™, Edelbrock® TV Cable Bracket part number 376700
???

ya i was refering to the kit and the bracket, before you bought your stuff.
interested to see that bracket from tci.
EZ kits are considered some of the best you can buy. even if you don't buy their products, spend a few hours reading their articles on how the TV system works, you'll learn a ton...i did.

that fits on the intake manifold, and yes you need it. you also need the bracket that attatches to the carb arm. i think the technical term edelbrock calls the bracket is a "geometry corrector" so that the tv cable hooks onto the carb, and the geometry is more similar to stock
