Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

Just thought I would post these Lower control arms up. They have a creative type of bushing in them. Not a bad price either

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

They frown on ebay links on the forum, since the link goes dead too fast...
But yea, that's the hotpart ones with the spherical rubber bushing deal in there.
Slick idea. I'm not sure if many members on here have posted their results with using them?

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

I like the way these things sound. Im not sure if they actually work but there cheap. About 100 bucks less than ones with poly ends. And they do have test data.

Heres the main site they sell them at:

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

I have the J&N (hotpart) strut mounts.
Nice part, but didn't accomplish my goal. I wanted these $230 parts so that I could get more suspension adjustment, ie get to -1 caster and +5 camber (or whatever it was....) Put them on, and couldn't get any more adjustment than before! Still -.7 and 3 or so. d'argh! oh well, they are red and shiny and look great!

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

i bought the J&M LCA's with polyball bushings on both ends. the only problem i have with them is that they aren't greaseable, i had to tap them for grease fittings myself. i haven't tried them on the street yet, car is still going back together.

That stinks. But hey nothing is perfect. And now you made them perfect. Post some pics of your car when you get it back together. I know that process..

They are not tapped for grease fittings because we supply the only grease we want touching our bushings with the control arms. The lube we supply is a non petroleum water proof lube that will probably out live your car so you will probably never need to lube them again once they are installed as long as you lube all the bushings and metal parts the bushings touch.

so are you saying if i put another kind of synthetic grease on the bushings they are going to fall apart?

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

No but it will void the lifetime warranty on the bushing and it will not work as well as the grease we supply with the arms.

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

Hey guys!
I have the J&M LCAs on my '94 coupe, & they are awesome!
I installed them about 2 mos. ago, & the difference is obvious- the car handles better, feels tighter on the road, doesn't make any more noise (less than before, not more!), looks better underneath (they're bright red- on a red Z!), & they didn't cost as much as many of them do!

Also, in case you wondered about their service: I tore a chunk out of the first outer-bushing that I tried to install, (they are SOOOO tight, especially with the sticky grease on them, making them try to separate as you install them!) BEFORE I realized that if you take a prybar & open the brackets, they slip right in & the bolt recloses the bracket! (maybe they should offer installation instructions with that little nugget in them! Thanks Jared!)
I was bummed! New & damaged parts...UGH!
Well, I contacted the e-bay vendor (eq_solar- Jared) who sold me these, & he wrote back to say that they would contact me about selling me another bushing! Well, because it was my fault, I was okay with that, since I knew it was a specialty-item & I'd never find one elsewhere.
Then, I got a letter from them, & in the padded envelope- MY FREE NEW BUSHING!

I love 'em!

John

Sorry if I gushed, but you can't buy an advertiser as good as experience! Just thought you guys would like to know... (BTW- my user-name is the same on ebay, so go & look to see if I bought 'em!)
Ciao!

Re: Lower control arms with patented bushings looks intresting

Very nice concept for a great price.

To whom ever asked if anyone else had their products...

I have the older design strut tower plates and likes them at first but the more I look at them the less I like them. They have never even been driven on since the car has been down for YEARS now!!!
The older plates have only three contact points (read aluminum spacers around each connecting bolt under a flat plate) where the new mounts actually mimic the stockers and have the flat plate completely touching the strut tower. There was a replacement period where they exchanged the older ones for the newer ones and when I contacted them about mine I was about three months outside that. I was disappointed to say the least, I would even reuse the bearing and underside!!
It seems they make good parts for good deals I just wish they would have worked with me more since the older design just really doesn't look all that safe.
