LT1 intake engine combo's

I have a converted LT1 intake and I was wondering what people have for engine combo's.

I have a 383 right now but 350 combos are good too.

I would like to know:
cid
compression ratio
cam
heads
exhaust
dyno #'s
track numbers

Thanks!

I have a Miniram and my old L98 combo looked like this,
350
9.8 CR
TPIS ZZ9 1.6 intake/1.52 exhaust
Trick Flow 23*
Edelbrock TES, Flowmaster 3" cat back
312 RWHP (very rich)
never got a chance to check

Ive now built up a 383 and it looks like this
383
10.4 CR
TPIS ZZ409 1.6 rockers
Pocket ported Trick Flow 23*
SLP 1 3/4 headers, Flowmaster 3" cat back
and the last two I havent checked yet.

On your 383, if you had to build that motor again, would you have gone for more compression?
Was it hard to tune?

I am thinking 11.0-1 compression for my 383.

Yes, I would have gone to 11 to 1. Im actually upgrading to AFR 210 Eliminator heads, TPIS ZZX cam, Hooker longtube headers, Mufflex 4" cat back and a 58mm TB. Hoping to make around 530 FWHP. Ill proably end up getting different pistons to get to 11 to 1 seeing out the AFR 210 heads have a slightly larger chamber.

I have access to a wideband so tuning was not as hard as it could have been. Theres still some work to be done on it.

I put down 346rwhp years ago when I had the LT1 intake. 383, 10.5:1, afr 190's, 230-236-114lsa cam, slp 1 3/4 headers with 3" slp catback, 30lb injectors, 58mm tb, maf tune by me. Never got to the 1/4 with it but it went consistent 8.10's at 86 mph on the 1/8 mile. Can't remember the torque number, it was like 355 or so. 3500 stall and 3.73 gears.

I will know in a couple of months, I took off the superram and put on a LT-1 intake on my vette. My goal is 550 to 600 HP at the engine. I will post the results when I get them. Listed below is my sig on the vette, except I have changed to the LT-1 intake.

1986 Coupe, auto, 3.45 gears, 1973 406, 11.5 to 1 compression, SLP cold air, gutted MAS, 58 MM throttle body, ported plenium, Superram intake, TPIS BASE, ported 23 degree Trick Flow Heads, ZZX cam, TPIS headers, TCI 3000 stall, 3" duel exhaust, Cheap and easy free mods, custom chip, daily driver
RWHP 405 @ 5400 RWTQ 436 FTLBS @ 4000

Best run
60 ft = 1.536
1/8 = 7.116 @ 95.874
1/4 = 11.185 @ 121.04

He is talking about the connecting rod length. He is using 5.7 inch rods instead of 6 inch.

stock 350 rods are 5.7 inches long and there are aftermarket rods that you can get that are longer by just .3 inches but that length is said to give more hp and torque.

Yes, people say that, but I have yet to see someone ever post dyno results on the same engine where they initially had 5.7 and then went 6.0. Using two different engines where they have identical specs except the rods is not really conclusive prove because you never know if any differences is due to other differences between the engines themselves.

Anyway, the real advantage of a longer rod are: 1) it causes the piston to dwell longer at TDC which is suppose to give more power by allowing the pressure in the cylinder to build longer and 2) it reduces the angle of the rod when travelling and suppose to be better for wear.

The disadvantage of a longer rod is it causes the wrist pin to be closer to the ring package. You must use different pistons depending on which rod you use, so I would ask to see the two pistons so you can see how close the wrist piston is to the ring lands.
