I am going to paint my polished rims painted this sat. I dotn know what color to paint them. Can you post your painted rim colors so I can get an idea?

Mark, I dont know if i want to go black with the rims. My car is white and I think black would be to dark... I was thinking maybe a metallic clor of some sort. Maybe like metallic gray or something I dont know...

Alls I do know is that what ever color I paint them I better be happy with cause I am not going to TAPE OFF the rims again...That took forever..........

Only took me 5-10 mins to tape off the rims, I'd think the biggest pain would be changing the color itself.

 

My friend did his in a bright silver metallic. They look real good.
You might try doing some photoshopping on them to see what looks the best.

 

I would try the photoshop thing but I dont know how to do it.

I dont know hpw to work photoshop to just cut out the painted parts and put in a differnent color...

Mark, how did it only take you 5 mins to tape off your rims?

What were you using? how did you di it?

Cause it took me along time to tape them off, right. what did you tape off? All the polished part? Theres no way you could do that in 5 mins...

 

Yea ... I'd like to hear about the 5 minute tape job. It took me like an hour per wheel.

 

I just got a role of thin masking tape (I guess it is, vanilla color), take semi long strips to do the inside 5star spokes. Then just take a couple long strips and run around the outside 2x, once for the inner part of the rim area and the other time overlapping a little to get the edges between the rim and tire. It's not that time consuming, I've done it 2x now, first time was when I painted them gray and now.
I would say it's closer to 10mins than 5, but no where near an hour.

 

yeah- I'd like to see anybody who painted the SC wheels- ya know, the plain ugly ones. I polished them up, but I dont have nearly enough money to get new ones yet so I'm going to paint the ones I got. I'm thinkin if i get a yellow car I'll do the area around the lug nuts black and the outer rim in yellow. If I go Viper blue (more likely) then I'll probably just do the calipers white. Whaddya think?
