how do you make the green turn signal a differant color?
iv seen this on other cars, but donw know how to do it. i was looking at the back of the little plate that has the arrows and the bright symbol on it and its all painted on good. i tried to take the color off with some paint remover, but no luck. i want them to either be red, or white, but i need to get rid of the green first. any help?

its simple, there should be about 8 torx screws on your bezel which you will need to take off, T25 if i'm not mistaken, and then underneath that there will be 6? hex nuts i think 10mm which you will also need to take off as well as the metal part underneath teh plastic, once all that is off you'll see these two green plastic things that you can just pull off. here are some pics if you're confused
i know how to take that all off, i just was messin with my DIY white face gauges, but i couldnt figure out how to get them ungreen...they look like they are painted green from the back and i tried to peel it off and it didnt work. i think i might be able to scrap it off....ill try it when i get my new ones to mess with.

yea mine were just circle pieces of green plastic that were glued into those holes, you just gotta pop them out. they aren't painted the plastic itself is green colored

yeah I was trying to figure out how I could change them also, so your saying, u need to put a new peice of plastic there? or you could just scrape them off? Which one?
what do you replace it with?
I was thinking blue signal lights,
and btw, how do u change the lights on the dash, one is burnt out.

for my dash, you just gotta pull the gauges out, then in the back there are plastic things that the bulbs set it (194's)...but i have also heard that on some cars you have to replace the whole plastic part as well..
i must have a differant type of turn signal thing then you guys have. i have a 84 TA and when you take the plastic lense of and look at the back it looks like it has melted plastic or paint on it to give it the color. there are no extra lenses or anything, just one peice, then the lightbulbs.

oooooooooooooooooh! oops, sorry man we've been talking about camaro dashes
hrrrm I've never really looked at the guts of a firebird dash cluster real close, so I can't help you there. You might want to try PM'ing one of the firebird guru's if they dont stick their heads in here But for davecamaro's questions...in a camaro to change the color just put a different color piece of plastic there in place of the original green, or you could get a clear piece and use whatever color bulb you want
as far as replacing your bulbs...you have to pull the guage cluster and then you can either insert new bulbs in the sockets or just stick whole replacements in, once you get the cluster out the bulbs are cake. Joined: Jan 2001
