Strangely enough, I really don't have alot of complaint's about my car..

Cheap insurance $370 third party, fire and theft
NO Squiking or rattling!! NONE!
T-tops only leak occationally when I have a heavy (fat) passenger sfc will solve that
Decent power compared to most other daily drivers
Nice ride, not harsh by any means.
Good handling, ws6
It's not that heavy, only 1430kg according to the registration papers, and thats about the same as a new VW golf with a 2,0 and auto
Hatch pull down didn't work, fixed now.
A little cheap steering wheel perhaps, the spokes doesn't give a nice grip when trying to shift position once in a while.
Decent fuel consumption, my old 1990 VW caravelle van used more!
Headliner mint condition
Very nice paint, NO chips except for the aero wing
Nice solid sound when closing the door, no sagging at all
Very nice and quiet, except when the windows and t-tops are down and I floor it :-)
Absolutely NO rust! Not even a single little spot in the spare tire wheel well! Zero! That impressed me alot! the car have never seen winther tires though, that may be the reason.

Over here, even cops think they're cool, today they even waived and gave a thumbs up!
Love the fact that its american, and that people tend to go "Holy crap! That was some car!"

I love it though, it's the center of my life. Love fixing the small little defects, and make it like new again. This one's gonna stick with me for a long time, it's the best car I've ever bought, and for the money, it's a steal!

THINGS I HATE
1)the fast look needs to be matched with a faster motor
2)the daym rattling when u hit a bump, you get used to it though
3) the daym headliner is falling apart
4) leaky t-tops got my back seat all torn up, but hey rather the back passangers then me
5) finding parking for my bird is a hassle , especially when u live in queens and the parking spots only fit hondas
6) one wheel burnout

THINGS I LIKE
1)even though its slow i like it better then a 4cy
2) the way the car hugs them curves
3)the way the body is shaped,
4) the way the car sits, nice and low
5) how you look in the car, when u can only see your head and not your body
6)my car is to small for 4 people, so half the time i have a good excuse to ride alone or with just one passanger
7)T-tops
8)the way my car shines
9) love the previous owner for keeping the body and engine (somewhat) in good shape
10) the compliments i get about my car, i dont even think driving in a brand new car would get u as many compliments
11) and last but not least, this is my favorite, when people go upto me and say "thats a nice ride, that thing is like a rocket" , of course i have to say hell yeh

my biggest three have to be the white trash symbol. the fact that my foot is bigger than the brake rotors. and the worst when people ask me "hey is it fast and i have to reluctantly say not really

say not really
I have to say that too.(Mine is the 82) I don't feel as bad because it's cornering ability entertains me.

All I need is more money to stop saying "not really".

I'll chime in again. For the most part I like my car, but it obviously has some problems which can be fixed or changed, but not without alot of work and money. Seems like the more things I do to it the more I end up having to do. It makes me a little envious of the people can like a car for what it is and drive and be happy with it.

What do I not like about my car? Blowing the head gasket only 3 weeks after buying the car. This due to the work done by the company who sold me my car put straight water into the cooling system instead of antifreeze. Then I went out on a night that was -17 degrees. Here, freezing is 32, so it was freakin' cold. Blew the head gasket and now it's absolutely bueatiful weather and I have to rebuild the entire top end of the engine to get it back on the road instead of driving with the damn t-tops off and enjoying my purchase. There, I feel better. Talk about a run on sentence, huh?

to be honest i love everthing about my car and 3rd gens. we all have to rember that these things are 20+ years old yeah they would have had a LT1 or LS1 in them if thoses motors were out back then but they weren't

yes at least one cup holder would have been nice but hey.....

i think they are bulit better then the 4th gens are not all plastic like the 4th gens are.

and its not like we cant fix everthing that the factory did wrong. iam mean that is what the aftermarket is there for right???????

Lincoln Towncars didn't even get cupholders. Stop complaining.

After owning my Mustang....my only real complaints about my old Camaro are:
The Unibody thing...lots of rattles and squeaks

Overly stiff suspension that never really aided in handling, just added irritation

The low seating position....takes away from visibility although you sure do feel cool.....

One major thing I can think of is the gas and brake pedal are way too close together. It sucks for those of us who have big feet.

hmmm....

9 bolt parts are not available without serious cash or reuse stock parts

again no manual for 350 f-bodys. the corvette got several
It would be sweet with the 6-speed like the vettes got.

Mustangs have a great aftermarket while thirgen markets are not very diverse and alot of products are not bolt in and go cuz computer tuning. Mustangs have better computer system and aftermarket support.

No dual exhaust
little cargo area but not a biggie.

Tuned Port Injection was designed for 305 cuz gm planned on not using 350 anymore-- otherwise we would have a bigger better flowing intake system to make big power without need to replace everything like base runners and porting.

If you really think about it they arent that bad for 20+ year old cars. And they do look great, yes they could be better but I would rather drive a Camaro then some Honda even if people like to call them white trash cars. If you hate your cars so much then sell them, if you want the ride expected in 2004 put new parts on it.

Your all a bunch of woman, if you have so many problems with the car then give it to me. You all want everything, every car has sacrifices, if you want cupholders get a CAMRY, or a Blazer. Same with the ride, and the braking, and the no glovebox. Get another car if you have so many problems with the car. Friggin A.

Haha....preaching to the choir. If I didnt have to drive mine regularly, I'd have pulled the A/C out by now and gutted it. All Ive been able to bring myself to remove is the back seats....

Honestly? No. Unless you have a very low powered car. Then maybe. Otherwise, it's all in the mind. However, I don't really use the back seats and they are some extra weight...so I figured why not. And they aren't hard to pull.

yeh backseats=t-top storage , and also storage for the water that leaks from my t-top through the headliner down to the backseats , maybe if i pull the seats out i can make some nice little piping to allow the water to leave my car, sort of like houses have , where the water drips down the roof and goes into the gutter

dont like the center console compartment its to weak its also way to bulky, seats dont go back any farther, the useless rear seats, its noisy inside unless you install 2 layers of dynamat.

the saggy headliner.

the shouldbelt trim piece that goes to the headliner.

the fact that the spare tire is a donut (which i tossed along time ago) the factory equipt jack wouldnt lift my cars rear end up to remove a flat tire.

the crappy useless stock wrap-around spoiler.

didnt come factory equipt with true dual exhuast.

Something that would be cool a remote rear hatch retracting mechanism.

the TBI cars came with the crappy single snorkel which couldnt support the 305, let alone a honda VTEC engine.

Super Heavy doors. that if you park awkward you cant get out cuase the body is twisted . thus needing those SFC's.

having to run a cat and having all that smog crap on the car which makes it look even uglier.

the A/C box is way to big and melts from header heat.

Maybe i see things differently because i had an 86 Monte Carlo first which was heavy everywhere but my Formulas hood feel as light as a feather and the doors don't seem all that heavy either. My car smells weird though and no amount of Febreeze has gotten it out. TBI sucks. There's nothing more to say about it. Both of my cars that were TBI hesitated horribly. The windows are slow also. Other than that it's really not that bad. It did run poorly for a while so i took it off the road and put the Monte back on. Now (this is no joke, i'm 100% serious) i put an action figure of Michael Knight in the Formula and it starts up every time. I know he had a Trans Am but damn- that made me laugh my @$$ off. What are you guys talking about? The brakes on mine are amazing and i don't even have discs in the back, they're drums.

There is nothing is dislike about my Camaro. I carefully chose what car I wanted, then waited patiently until I found the precise car I had in mind right down to the color and options.

Everything I didn't like about it I either replaced or repaired. Simply put, my 3rdgen is the epitome of automotive perfection!

So much so, I'm currently in the market for a "beater" 'vert for a project car.

Hate:

Heavy Doors

Heavy Car

No Standard shift in the 350 (should of added a 6 speed Corvette stick for a option)

How there was no 350 Convertible

Cheap Paint

Horrible HP Ratings ( besides later 350 TPIs had decent amount.....)

I think some of the Cloth Interior looks weird

Also its sqeaks to much

305 TBI.

A lot of wind noise from T-top (80 MPH and above), which is also squeeky.

Busted center dash (ashtray).

Loose sunlight visors (especially the passenger side).

Crap material for headlining, which I plan on replacing shortly with vinyl.

Y-pipe exaust.

Lack of trunk space.

Slow power windows (one moves slow down, and the other moves slow up). Need to get in there and clean!

Couple of cracks on driver side of dash, and missing an interior door icon (small firebird plaque).

Stock rims.

And bad alignment of front fender ground effects.

In the end, though, I love this car. Although, I hope to be able to, along with fixing all the small problems, swap the engine out for a 5.7 TPI, if possible.

If only I had mechanic friends.

Forgot to add that my T-tops have scratched surfaces.

-Frame weaker than paper mache

-Interior looks cheaper than a 2 dollar h_

-Car squeaks and rattles more than a rusted out Datsun with a bed full of scrap metal

-Cost of installing a decent dual exhaust exceeds value of car

-Factory paint made Maaco look good

-No matter how nice I keep it there's always going to be some *** making trailerpark jokes about it

theres a couple things i dont like..

1) whats the point for the little fuking seats in the back with no damn room?

2) Doors weigh more then the rear ends

3) Drum brakes in the rear

4) not posi

5) E brake.. wait nvm what e brake.. p.o.s

6) my 89 rs .... 2.8 v6 wtf?!??!?!? and you's complain with 5 speed 305's

7) only 2 pedals

8) Floaty suspension

9) The cars just weigh too much,,,.. weight reduction is needed

10) need more hp then them little ***** p.o.s's to run their 1/4 times cause they weigh like less then 2g.. ugh

11) T-top leaks

12) takes longer for the pw's to go down then it does to fill the gas tank

and thats about it....i guess all the little minor **** i can deal with

Everything on my car now is either, rusty, broken, faded, chipped, or just plain unusable. Too much for me to restore now, so its time for another thirdgen.

They don't make em anymore. The supply of good used cars is dwindling out. another ten years and it will be like trying to get parts for a 70 chevelle.

Lets see... 3rd gen complaints...

Insurance for sure (I'm a guy and got my 1st 3rd gen at 17... need I say any more???) and the fact that it took me the last 6 years until I could get a GTA - the 3rd gen I always wanted!!!

Oh yeah, and I live in Canada, so RUST!!! Do you realize how hard it is finding 3rd gen cars around here in good condition??? And when you do, you have to pay huge $$$ to get them!

Other than that, I love 3rd gens... GTAs especially...

It sounds like most complaints were taken care of with the 4th gen.

I'm 16, and my insurance is $4.09 a day.

Well if I could have a) more money or b) a thirdgen with 4thgen drivability I would have no complaints either.

If we all had more money we wouldnt be complaining as much, on side note I got a few issues addressed so things looking up, although I still plan on getting another one, I said I never would but im a hypocryte.

That I've had it for 4 years and it hasn't been on the road yet, major work I've done and still yet to drive it on the road legally,. Reasons i have been taking so long to get it going, lack of funds

Mine is without any tickets or accidents, but it doesn't include collision. Do you have collision or did a ticket increase the cost of insurance for you?

lol... i have ALL of the problems listed above, except t-top leaks, because i have WORSE leaks... mine is a convertible... I LOVE the design of the top, how it folds into the car, with its own cover and the bad@$$ shoulder strap design for the rear seats, but thats only if youre transporting midgets... if you wrench on your own car, the fact that it is an AMERICAN car with METRIC bolts almost everywhere... i did an engine swap in mine with 1/2, 9/16, 5/8 and 8-12mm lol... notice there are WAY more metric bolts... (i also used more than that, just trying to prove a point) but the main thing i hate about a stock 3rdgen is the "All show and NO GO" part... these cars LOOK fast... but they, well.. arent.. haha.. at least the stock ones... haha

I'm not really a fan of 4th gens myself... they're fairly nice and drive out well, but 3rd gens look much better....

Sports car + being born a guy = Big $$$$$ for insurance (no matter where you live!)
