ram air hood pics please

I am thinking about getting either this hood:

or this hood:

But I cant find a pic of the first hood on my GTA style front end. I hate the way the 90s front ends look. So, does anyone have a pic of this hood on my front end?
Thanks
Brian

thanks, but is that the first or second hood. I think it looks more like the second but in your pic it looks really nice. I might have to change my mind AGAIN.
Thanks again

I don't know anything about the hoods, but, that top Firebird is flat out gorgeous. I'm going to run out and get mine painted, pronto!! I didn't realize they made tubs of Vaseline big enough to dip a whole car!

BTW - the 90's front end is 80% of the reason I bought my car. I'm just sayin'...

I totally dig the fact that others like that front end. I just dont like it. I think mine is a little tougher looking were the 90s looks a little sleeker.
And ya, that paint job is flat out gorgeous.

http://www.pnw3.org The main page has my car on it.

That is the first hood on a 1990 Firebird (flat nose, the sleek was only 91-92)

That would be it. I love that hood. Thanks. I really like the Ram Air II hood but it seems too much like, "why didnt that dude just by a 4th gen" Plus the RAII is getting way too popular. Is your functional? If so, do you have any pics of the intake setup? Thanks

1. I like the way the ram air hoods look
2. Our cars really dont breath that well, so a ram air would help ALOT
3. Do you have any pics of the powerbuldge?

NO the ASCD ram air isn't functional, But I did cut two holes on the inside of the hood to let air flow through.
The suncoast hood has a setup you can buy to make it work.
It's 2x the price of the ASCD if you get there airbox too.

Is there enough room that if I were to get that hood I could fab up a functional box?
Thanks

the back of the ram ports are cut out, and the cowl for that matter for heat and digital tach and shift light, however the ram isn't made to the air cleaner so it doesn't function like a 4th gen, mainly because i plan on a D1-sc, it will such more air then a ram air (compression) will ever make

I think there are a few of us that would appreciate some detailed pics of how much room there will be with this hood to make a Ram Air box..... ... hint hint, cough cough....

It looks to me like there will be enough room to make the box that Suncoast sells for their hood work.... and I think that GTAA has a box set up for their Ram Air hoods as well......

Well Matt , I kinda got the hint there,, I went and took some pics of mine down in the garage, there dark but you will get the idea.
I measured the inside clearance from the inside and you will get about 3" of room from this hood, but you will be lucky to get about 2" of room in the tightest spot, on top of the radiator. As you can see in this pic. the nostrals are up in front of the radiator, thats where your problem will be.

maybe take some more fiberglass and make a sort of tunnel over the radiator brace?? man I'm all out of ideas on this one. I like the look of the hood so much though.....but I wouldn't want a non-functional ram-air hood. Well....I've got to replace my front bumper this summer anyway. I'll draw up a paint file and post it with an idea I'm having.

the Ram Air I hood is actually like the ASCD hood.. it's not quite right at the front of the hood, and slants back more .. the Suncoast Creations hood isn't like that.. I think the ASCD hood goes better with the body.. plus Suncoast Creations charges way too much.. I found some other place that makes them with functional airboxes for about $500-600.. let me see if I can find it..

--edit--

found it
http://www.ramairhood.com or http://www.advancedplasticsmfg.com/

they're both the same page ... only thing is they don't have Ram Air I hoods, just RAII ... for $645 functional. (at least for the firebirds)

also, with the ASCD and Suncoast Creations hoods, the fact that the ASCD hood scoops are a little farther back might make the functional part a little easier (might put the outlets back just far enough or high enough to clear the radiator) than the Suncoast one which is right at the front.
