It always tells me that the file is too big. I have tried to make it smaller but still has not worked.

To bigals87z28 . You can use any push-on breater. Like a K&N or a plain MR. Gasket one, it already comes with the right grommet. I had those same valve covers on my 91 Z28.

but what about the oil cap? can that be reused? i never thought about the pvc... i thought that was a circle too? I need to know if there is a way to reuse the old cap or where to find one that fits.

Scania,
What type of header wrap is that and how did you get it on one each tube so tight and smooth?

I used thermotec Cool it. It took me 2 days to get it right and i didnt use water like many do.I used aircraft looking wire because its easy to hide the wire so it looks better. You will get a much tighter and smoother result if you dont use water on the wraps. Ohh and you need a lot of patience.

Very nice.

You got a 305? How's the performance with those headers? They look good.

Just use a breather in place of the oil cap. Pull the breather and fill through the hole. That should work.

Scania: what kind of header-wrap do you use? I live "a few" km south from you; since we don't have any Jet Hot agenda in Europe, I'm thinking 'bout this kind of tape from Summit. Is it so useful as they say?

Its thermo tec. I think Summit has it. Yes it works and it reduces the heat under the hood. I use the wrap because im afraid of melting wires and other things.
On the pictures you can see the bad gaskets that was included with the hedders and the bolts are lousy, i have to tighten them twice every summer.

Ooops, sorry for double posting, 89 IROC Z has asked the same Q before...

Just one thing; how much tape did it take to cover these headers? I guess it's 1 in. wide?

Thanks
Mike
