What's the best/easiest way to get paint off of plastic? Specifically, the rear tail lights (black part) on a 1990 IROC. Previous owner apparently painted them white and then painted back over the white with black! The flat surfaces aren't the problem it's mainly the grooved and curved portions. Seems like I've read somewhere about brake fluid being able to do this effectively. All opinions appreciated!

paint thinner will work wonderfly. just like dont go overboard with it cause i have no clue how strong it is when it comes to plastic. They sell some of that suff in a spray bottle...you spray a little bit on, wait a few minutes for it to become like a foam, then wipe it off....that was for metal when i used it so get something for plastic and make sure you follow the directions. if its not on too bad and if you'ev scraped most of the crap off, just a little bit of that stuff on a rag will probably get it off.:lala:

you could do that or just get regular paint thinner or paint remover stuff.....even if it does react with plastic, i would think unless its something big that if you maybe dilouted the stuff with a bit of water and just put a very small amount on a rag and did it real quick you should be OK......but if your gonna have to go out and buy something anyway, go for the stuff made for plastic.....
